Vintage Motorcars is proud to present this beautiful 1956 Ford Fairlane Victoria 2 Door Hardtop.
To start with… I absolutely love the color combination, and the added Mercury trim on the exterior to give it a ‘custom’ look. This truly is a great car for the price to be able to hop in and cruise anywhere you want in style and comfort.
The correct ECA-A 292 engine with correct Thunderbird ECZ-G heads was completely rebuilt a mere 2,000 miles ago, and it runs like new. During the engine rebuild; the correct ECZ-9510-A-List 1162 Teapot 4bbl carburetor was professionally rebuilt by one of the best in the business. The correct 4bbl air cleaner was restored, and the vacuum and fuel lines were completely replaced. Also intact and restored are the correct EDB 9431 exhaust manifolds. During the rebuild; the engine compartment was completely repainted to allow the next owner to proudly open the hood at a car show. The rebuild was aimed at making the car perform like new while keeping as much originality as possible. The correct Ford-O-Matic 3 speed automatic transmission was also rebuilt recently, and shifts life a dream!
Just take a look at the new parts that were installed recently:– Vacuum lines– Fuel lines– Wiring harness– Battery tray– Battery hold-down– Battery cables– Rear view mirrors– Antennae– Stone guards– Trunk emblem– Heater core– Hood script– Trunk mat
The original colors of Peacock Blue and Colonial White were re-painted about 6 years ago, and still look beautiful. Sure… there are a couple minor flaws, but who really wants a trailer queen that never gets driven? The paint really does shine up beautifully, and looks great at any distance. The chrome and stainless are in very good shape showing minimal wear, and the wide-white tires really help finish off the exterior vibe!
The interior is completely new with the exception of the headliner. The seats were re-upholstered with the correct fabric and stitching, and look amazing. The dash is nice with only minor wear, and all the gauges work just the way they should. Even the original Town & Country radio lights up like it was 1956!
The trunk is very clean showing original sheet metal on both quarters and also features a classic Ford steel spare and bias-ply tire.
The underside of the car is just the way I like it… unrestored. Sure… rotisserie cars look all nice and shiny underneath, but what did they look like before the restoration? With this classic Ford; you can see with your own eyes that this car is rust-free, and well maintained. It should be considering it hailed from Central Missouri where salt on the roads is a sin.
All-in-all… this is a quality driver from the Classic 50’s that will never go out of style. Compare this Ford to its Bowtie counterpart of this era, and you can see how this car is a true bargain!
