1966 Ford Fairlane GT 2 Door Hardtop. 390 V8 engine, Factory Top Loader 4 speed and 9 Inch Rear end. Barn Find. Just out of Long Term storage. Oregon Car since New. Sold New in Cottage Grove, Oregon. Only Two Owner's since New, and they both lived in Cottage Grove, Oregon. 1st Owner had it 15 years and the 2nd Owner had it 35 years. 2nd Owner just passed away. Rust Free and Accident Free Oregon Vehicle. (It rarely snows here, so the roads are never salted.). It appears to have been repainted about 25 years ago. The paint is still shinny. Enjoy as the Barn Find that it is; or Restore it.
POWER TRAIN: It is supposed to have the original 390 engine. It has been modified. It has a 1963 Ford 427 FE - Dual Four intake manifold (C-3AE), with dual Edelbrock Carbs. Tubular Headers (The Original Cast Iron Exhaust Manifolds are in the trunk). Lumpy Camshaft of unknown origin. Griffin Aluminum Radiator with 2 Electric Fans. Mallory Distributor. Been converted to Front Disc Brakes with a Dual Master Cylinder and proportioning valve. Has Power Steering and Power Brakes. The Top Loader 4 Speed has been rebuilt and shifts very smoothly with the Hurst Competition Plus Shifter. New Clutch and Pressure Plate just installed. Just had a complete service done to it. It starts, runs, drives and stops great. American Torque Thrust Mags (Old original American Mags - 14 Inch) and New Goodyear GT2 Radial tires. Has Traction Bars.
BODY: The body is very straight. Please see the pictures. All the trim is very nice and original. All Chrome is nice. Rust Free Oregon Car. (There is small area on the under side of the trunk lid that has some surface rust, but no rust through). It should show in the pictures. The Fairlane appears to have been repainted about 25 years ago. Original Factory Black car, with Parchment Vinyl Interior. All the interior floors, trunk floor are solid. Just a nice 50 Year Old Fairlane GT 4 speed car.
INTERIOR; Parchment interior. As you can see there is a rip in the driver's seat; the passenger seat and rear seat look good. The Head liner is missing. The door panels and carpeting are good. It has a functioning Tachometer and Oil pressure and Water Temp gauges. Carries good oil pressure and does not over heat. It has a Kenwood Stereo with Cassette and a Pioneer Amp in the trunk. The Factory 4 Speed Stamped Steel Transmission Cover (That screws to the Transmission hump) is in the trunk. In good original condition. Should show in the trunk pictures. The battery has been relocated to the trunk. The Fairlane does not have the original GT Console.
