Description

1965 Ford Mustang Restomod. 5.0L EFI5-speed manual transmission, POWER STEERING, POWER DISC BRAKES &AIR CONDITIONING for those hot summer days!
The VIN on this car is 5F077T771550. The donor car was a 1995 Mustang GT 5.0 VIN 1FALP42T85F106662. It has the battery relocation kit (battery in the trunk). The emergency brake was relocated from the dash to the center hump to have a direct pull. Works well and does not interfere with the shifter. Has tilt steering with a Grant steering wheel. AC and heat work well. (Keep in mind the limitations of these vintage systems.)
I bought it with the conversion already installed. I had to have the engine rebuilt soon after getting it. The engine has a 3-year, 36,000-mile warranty on it from Carter's Engine in Amarillo. I will give you all of the paperwork from the original conversion and the rebuild. Any warranty claims will be between the new buyer and the shop. The work was done in November of 2013 and currently has~800 mileson it. I will continue to drive it around town, so consider the mileage approximate. There is no warranty between you and I whatsoever and you are buying this vehicle as-is, where is. As with most classic cars, this car has WAY more in it than the reserve price. The vehicle is also for sale locally, so I reserve the right to end the auction if the vehicle sells outside of eBay.
Recent work includes:
  • Remanufactured long block
  • New plugs
  • New thermostat
  • New water pump
  • New oil pump
  • New cam & lifters
  • New rocker studs
  • new push rods
  • New harmonic balancer
  • New clutch
  • Flushed radiator
  • New radiator hose
  • New heater hose
  • New serpentine belt
  • New starter
  • New battery
  • New passenger side window regulator (driver side window could use a new one)
  • New driver's side door hinges
The car is a lot of fun to drive and turns a lot of heads. The 5.0L is a lot of engine for that little car and the 5-speed makes it a blast to drive. The transmission shifts smoothly. The clutch pedal has a really tight spring. It has the Mustang Cobra wheels on it off on the donor 1995. It has TPI Tech digital gauges on the instrument cluster. To my knowledge, everything on the car is either for a 1965 Mustang or a 1995 Mustang, so finding parts is easy (no guess work like with some restomods!).
The interior is also customized and is in decent shape. The front seats are from the 1995 donor car and the back seat is the original style. The exteriorcould use a new paint job, but it's not too bad and looks okay. Aside from the couple of minor dimples on the passenger side fender (from the battery bouncing around inside once on the previous owner), the body is in great shape. I've never found any rust on the vehicle.
The car is over 50 years old. The fuel injected engine makes it pretty reliable (especially since it's just rebuilt and has a warranty), but it's not a brand new car. It's pretty mechanically sound, but it could use a little work here and there. Having had an all-original '65 before, I can tell you that the power steering and power brakes make it really nice (and much safer) to drive. If you've dreamt of a restomod, this is the car for you. You could put all of your finishing touches on it.

I'm selling this car because I got my first (6-cylinder) 1965 Mustang back that I originally bought when I turned 16. I don't need 2 classic Mustangs and I'd prefer to keep the one that has more sentimental value.
If you want any additional pictures of anything specific, please send me a message and I'll get you a picture of what you need. Bidders are responsible to perform their own vehicle inspection prior to the auction close/purchase.If you'd like to send your mechanic to inspect, I'll work with you on that. The $500 non-refundable deposit is due within 48 hours of the close of the auction. I am adding a delivery option, which will cost the buyer $2/mile one-way, up to 1500 miles within the US Lower 48 States. This will require full payment plus shipping prior to delivery.
This car has over $25,000 in it.
