Description

1978 Ford Econoline 250 with 67,000 original miles. Great original condition, not restored. Spent most of it's life in a garage in Albuquerque, then we brought it down to Tucson a few years ago. It was customized in 1984 and has been that way ever since. We have the maintenance records since new (documents included with the van). We bought it from the original owner's family. This van has unlimited potential. Keep it in it's current retro cruiser state, or it could easily be modded in to a bitchin baja surfer van, bugout apocalypse vehicle, moto hauler, or adventure camper van...... you could do most anything with it. We used it to go to mountain bike races all over the west. It's been completely mechanically proofed, wouldn't hesitate to drive it across the country tomorrow, those aren't just words, we do it all the time. This is a true adventure mobile, they don't build them like this anymore, no computers, no sensors, parts are readily available, it's very affordable to own and simple to maintain. Strong as an ox, will pull anything, lots of power and gets decent mileage, between 15-18mpg. Cruises straight and smooth, super reliable, holds 75mph+ all day long. No play in the steering, brakes are very powerful. Body and interior are in great shape for it's age. Rear bench seat swivels 360 degrees. Super clean inside and out. No rust anywhere, none what so ever! Gets compliments and thumbs up all the time, everywhere you go.

351 Windsor engine (non-catalyst, meaning catalytic converters, air pump, or other smog equipment are exempt) with a C6 automatic transmission, shifts perfectly. Power brakes, power steering. Dana 60 rear axle. All the gauges work, all lights and turn signals work.Power brakes, power steering.Tilt steering wheel. Has intermittentwipers. Radio is disconnected (works). Cruise control has been removed. New Edelbrock intake manifold and Edelbrock 1405 carburetor (choke assembly removed). New Mr. Amp 150 amp Ford 3G alternator upgrade with a marine fuse panel and Optima battery are ready to power all your future accessories.New copper high output heater core. No A/C, never had it.Billstein shocks, Pirelli 265/70/17 tires with about 70% tread left. No spare tire. Two factory gas tanks about 18 gallons each, change them with a flip of a switch, more driving range than you can hold your pee. All fluids and filters changed. Mobile One oil (always) and K&N oil filter, trans fluid and filter changed, rear end oil changed, radiator flushed, front wheel bearings repacked. All new belts and hoses. Our last 1,800 mile trip through the Nevada desert and the California Sierra Nevada mountains used less than 1/2 a quart of oil. No cracks in glass, windshield, dash, or steering wheel. Normal paint chips and light scratches for a 38 year old vehicle. Underside looks close to new, clean, most of the factory paint markings are still visible on the bolts.Doors are dimpled a bit at the mirror mounts from the mirrors getting bumped.Interior in great shape for being nearly just as old. Never smoked in, nor any other funky smells. If it was any nicer, you'd be afraid to drive it.

We've had many good times and adventures cruising this van all over the west in the last few years. Now it's your turn. It's totally reliable, super easy to drive, one finger steering, very fast and smooth, and people dig it!
