Description

Scarlett is a beautiful 1965 Mustang with just over 52,000original miles on the 289 motor. 90% original/numbers matching. She's a rust free west coast car with all original metal. (in one of the pictures you will see the original VIN from the interior fender well). We just moved from Idaho a year ago because we are in the military. Not picturedare the original 2 barrelintake and carburetor (still factory Ford tagged), which are freshly rebuilt, and the original radiator which is in decent condition and can be rebuilt. These parts are easy to put back on the car, by simply removing the options that are currently installed. The motor was rebuilt less than 1000miles ago and has the remainder of a 5 yr/50k mile warranty from the company that did the rebuild (roughly 2 years remaining). The pictures you see of the bottom are pre-rebuild so the oil pan is painted now and the headers you can see from below are now ceramic coated. They look awesome. Currently installed options are an Edelbrock performer 4 barrel intake, Holly 4160 4 barrel carburetor with electric choke (customized, re-jetted, and tuned specifically for the 289 by Nickerson Performance who has a lifetime guarantee on work/tune), ceramic coated tri-y headers, and Flowmaster dual exhaust. Along with the rebuild came all the usual replaced parts, new flex plate, starter, fuel pump, hydraulic lines, belts, motor mounts, and radiatorand i have receipts for allthe work. The exterior paint is a "20 footer" and could use a fresh job due to there being some starring/scratches. The carpet in the interior is new (OEM factory replacement specs) along with a spruce up of the ORIGINAL vinyl seats. The front seat padding and vinylcould use being replaced but are still completely usable as is. I replaced the instrument cluster face plate, and there is a new radio installed that resembles the original radio but has new technology and an auxiliary input for a phone/iPod. The one bit, aside from the paint, that is left to be touched are the wheels. There are brand new tires all the way around, just a couple months old with less than 100 miles on them, but i recently chased down a vibration in the car (that shows up around 60 or 65 mph) andit turns out the wheels need to be replaced. If you go with the original style steel wheels and hubcaps (that originally would have come on the car) to maintain authenticity you would be looking at $500ish...depending on the vendor. If you went with full rims designed to look original you are looking at roughly $800ish, again, depending on the vendor. She’s a beautiful car, and I would love her to go to someone who cares for her the way i do. Let me know if I can answer any questions for you or if you would like additional specific pictures. Thank you for your interest.
