Here is an absolutely beautiful 1957 Ford T-Bird convertible ready for the road or a full restoration! This is the year of the ‘small bird’ model. The car is a very handsome driver, with potential to be a show car. It has been carefully maintained. The condition of the vehicle is very good and has 69,000 miles showing on the odometer and is believed to be original miles based on knowledge of the owner. The interior is red with vinyl seats and red carpet. The engine is a 312Y V8(3.8" bore, 9.7 compression ratio, 5.1L,245hp) with a 3 speed transmission, AM radio and FM tape under the dash, factory Ford headers, factory Ford traction bars, and tan canvas top(no hard top). P/B, P/S, new battery, fuel and oil pumps. Car has reproduction wide white tires in radial(matching set) with plenty of wear to go. Vehicle drives and has been used by the owner for parades, displays and family outings.
The engine is not original(original was a 292 with 3 speed). The current motor came from another T-Bird which was beyond restoration. The current motor runs with a 6 blade aftermarket fan, pointless distributor, and an upgraded coil(Pertronix components for drivability). Transmission is 3 speed OD(disconnected). Car is complete except for hardtop, original fan blade, original points, original exhaust manifolds. The dash padding is new. The data plate is partially missing following the paint job but pieces of it are still attached to the firewall on the passenger side. Car has a good VIN number, clear title, and the chrome on the car was largely replaced as well as emblems and bumpers. The interior is showing some wear and could use a carpet set. Mechanically, the car runs and idles well. The trunk has a new full liner and is in good shape. The underside is solid and the suspension and brakes have been redone.
