1966 Ford Galaxie 500
Description
I am selling my very clean and solid 1966 Galaxie 500 with a stock 2V 390. It is ready for a summer of cruising the open road with the family riding in style!
The paint is in very good condition and the car is not missing any trim. The paint was just sanded and buffed. This black beauty looks amazing!! The the underside of the car and frame are rust free and very clean.
The interior is very clean and intact. No tears in the seats or carpet. The door panels and rear side panels show some wear around the edges. The dash pad had a cover installed before I purchased.
The gauges all work, with exception of the clock (nearly all clocks of those days are burned up internally, they do make replacements). The cold and overheat idiot lights have been unhooked to allow for the temp gauge to operate. The working odometer reads 34600, don't know actual mileage.
I have fixed and improved the car with many new parts-
Power disc power brakes, newly rebuilt rear drum brakes, new steering joints, new upper and lower ball joints, new water pump, new rear main crank seal, rebuilt power steering pump, new gas tank, new fuel sending unit, heavy duty front sway-bar upgrade, installed new rear sway bar, added a coolant reservoir, points have been replaced with Petronix. I installed a set 17" chrome American Racing Torq-Thrust wheels with Falken 225/50 on front and 255/45 on rear. I'm sure there is more I'm not thinking of.
The problems with the car-
Above the passenger sun visor, a mouse chewed a couple holes in the headliner. You can see in photos. I haven't replaced the headliner, the holes are completely covered when the visor is up. Both doors on the lower forward corners have a bit of bubbling under the paint. They haven't changed in the last year that I've owned the car.
I will answer any questions you may have.
Thanks for looking at my Galaxie.
