Description

STK 2105 1979 Ford F-150 Ranger XLT We're not sure if Ford was using the 'Built-Ford-Tough' slogan back in 1979, but if they were, this F-150 XLT would certainly qualify. It is a 3-owner truck and the current owner has had it for the last 36 years. After a full restoration in 2006, this matching numbers 4X4 looks much like it did in '79, but maybe better. A testament to this F-150 is how truly original it seems. The paint, the chrome, the stainless - everything is top-shelf. The two-tone combination Brown/Yellow is factory code. The '79 F-150 had a distinctive squared-off appearance that is just right for a pickup. There is hefty chrome, wide mirrors and nice 15 period-correct aftermarket wheels with chunky rubber. This truck sits nice - raised, but not too much. Under the hood lives a Ford 351 M-code motor. This engine was derived from the Ford 'Cleveland design' and was used in full-sized Ford pick-ups / Broncos from 1977-1982. The 351 was a de-stroked version 400ci design. This smaller version still has tons of torque, but pulls RPMs quicker than the large motor and is tame on the street. It is backed by a three-speed automatic. The engine compartment is nicely detailed, as is the entire undercarriage. There is power steering and power disc/drum brakes. The interior of this truck is outstanding. It was nicely reupholstered in cream cloth/vinyl and the factory dash contains a full compliment of gauges. Comfort features include: cold air, tinted windows, tilt wheel and aftermarket AM/FM/Cassette stereo. This is a nice ride that any Blue Oval fan will enjoy.
