After dealing with a middle man broker that hit the buy it now on the last auction and patiently waiting on payment for 3 weeks I've decided to relist the car. The car received an A1 inspection but the buyer couldn't come up with the money to finalize the deal. Please, do not bid if you can't buy it, it ruins it for the buyers that do have the money. You are welcome to schedule an inspection, I can send videos from my phone of it running or a walk around. I Do Not want any trades. If you hit the buy it now you must pay for it in full within 7 days of close. The car is also for sale locally so buy it now if you really want it. This is the best Cobra deal on Ebay right now. Car needs nothing but a new owner.
This is your chance to own one of the top Cobras that are available for much less than you can build one for. The Backdraft Cobra is well known to hold or go up in value rather than most cookie cutter kit cars. This car has it all, murdered out slick black paint with blackout trim package, 550 Horsepower Jack Roush 427 Stroker Windsor engine that runs on pump gas, 5 Speed Tremec with Quicktime bellhousing, and an Independent rearend with coilover shocks on all 4 corners. On the road this car is very easy to drive and will fit any size driver, I'm 5'10" and have to move the seat up to drive it so if you are 6 feet tall and you want a Cobra, this is your car. These cars seldom come up for sale because once you get one you never let it go. I am selling this car to help fund another project that I'm building. I own a high end restoration shop in Texas that is called Grubbs Motorsports so I know a quality car when I see one, this is that car. The paint is excellent with normal fiberglass aging that can only be seen under perfect lighting and you have to look for it. Overall the shine is excellent and paint quality is near show quality. The stripes are a bright orange and gunmetal gray over a deep black finish. The paint is all basecoat/clearcoat and was done at the factory where the cars are built. The great part about this car is how easy it is to drive, brakes are great and easy to push, steering is manual but requires minimal effort to steer, suspension is firm but smooth, the engine is smooth and idles and starts easily but will go when you want it to. I am a Texas dealer, so if you are from Texas we will have to transfer the title to you, if you're out of state you can handle the transfer on your end, we will provide all proper documentation. I will sell out of the country but only after wire transferred funds have cleared. I've sold many cars and know all the games and scams, so please keep the bidding honest for the real buyers.
Body:Overall excellent for a 5 year old car, minimal shrink back in the paint which is completely normal for any fiberglass car, gaps are good and doors, hood, and trunk latch correctly and fit well. In the trunk you'll find a custom fit car cover for it along with an original build manual with receipts for the engine, trans, car, and other parts. There is no chrome on the body, all pieces are satin black that are typically chrome, window frame, hood release handles, etc. This is an expensive upgrade from Backdraft and they are limited in production.
Suspension:Factory Backdraft all the way with 4 wheel disc brakes, Independent rearend based on a BMW, it handles great, stops on a dime and steers like a precision F1 car. Coilover shocks keep the car glued to the road. Rack and pinion manual steering is tight and requires minimal effort, just the right resistance, anyone can drive this car. Tires are Goodyear Eagle F1 tires and the backs are huge 315/35/17 and the fronts are 235/45/17 the fitment is perfect, no rub and the back looks fat from the rear.
Drivetrain:427 Windsor based small block built and serialized to the car from Roush 550 Horsepower, hydraulic roller cam, aluminum Roush heads, Holley carb, MSD distributor and coil, pump gas friendly compression ratio, the perfect amount of streetable horsepower that is both reliable and will rip when you are ready to. The radiator has a single electric fan and it runs a perfect 180 degrees. The cam hits pretty hard and sounds great through the factory coated headers and side pipes with mufflers in them to keep the sound respectable. The transmission is a Tremec TKO 600 that has a smooth clutch that requires minimal pedal effort and it is surrounded by a blow proof Quick Time bellhousing for both safety and strength. The rearend is geared for any type of driving, it will cruise at 80 at only 2500 RPM, making it a great all around car to own.
Interior:Beautifully stitched black seats with the Backdraft logo sewn in to the backs, the carpet is clean and like new, along with the dash. The gauges are all British type metric with the exception of the speedometer which is in MPH. The seats are adjustable and move a great deal to suit any size driver. The car is wider and longer than the original Cobra which adds to your comfort especially in the foot box area which is much wider and in line than most kit cars that I've owned. The interior shows no wear and tear and looks new just like the rest of the car.
Overall, I rate this car at a 9.5 out of 10 and that's only because it isn't brand new from the factory, no issues either mechanically or visually. This car turns heads and will never go down in value. Cost to build this car today would be around 85,000 so you have the chance to buy it for much less. Make offers and the car is for sale locally so if you're serious you better jump on it, these cars don't come to market often. I always welcome inspections or come see it in person, I'm available by phone at 469-387-9796 to discuss the car. I can also send a video to a cell phone if you like. This car is titled as a 1965 Ford and it is a clear Blue Texas Title. Thanks and good luck. I might trade for the right deal but you will have to travel, I can't meet you and it has to be a real dollar for dollar trade deal or trade up or down with cash either way. I forgot to mention that the holes are in the front lower valance to add a splitter/spoiler. These are available but I don't have it. They put the correct inserts in it in case you want to add it later. You can't see them unless you are looking for them they are so low to the ground.
