1970 Ford Mustang Shelby Cobra GT-500 7.0L Fastback Candy Apple Red Survivor Car
Description
This very rare 1970 Shelby Mustang GT 500 fastback was originally delivered by Shelby & Ford to Johnny Bolton Ford in Maitland, Florida on August 27, 1969 and then was dealer transferred to J.D. Ball Ford in Miami, Florida where the original ownerpurchased & picked up the car and promptly exported the Shelby to Venezuela (where it remained until the spring of 2015) when it was imported back to Florida.
This car was one of the last Shelby Mustangs ever built (06/02/1969) prior to Shelby Automobiles closing down and was one of the very last to be sold new (03/09/70) making this already very desirable and collectable Shelby even more-so .
Paperwork that comes withthe car includes a clear title, original owners manual, the Deluxe Marti Report, the original factory order sheet & original Ford to Shelby to dealer invoice.
The car is an all original matching numbers car. Original motor, original transmission, original rear end, etc. Based on the Marti report this car was ordered with every single option available to be ordered on the 1970 Ford Shelby Mustang. No option box was left unchecked at the time the order was placed.
This car has had a full service done in the last 30 days including:
- Complete comprehensive tune-up Including new plugs, new wires, cap & rotor, (oil) fluid change, timing set, etc.- Original carburator rebuilt w/ new fuel line- Original fuel system serviced with all new rubber hoses andmechanical fuel pump - Tank drained, etc.- Both sides engine mounts replaced- Cooling systemflushed and serviced, new hoses
Car will run and drive on its own around a parking lot. Car has not been road tested as tires, brakes, suspension and exhaust require attention because of age of car.
This is a very rareopportunity topurchase an original, unrestored 1970 Shelby Mustang GT 500. This is a car that would be an easyrestoration for a father/son, daddy/daughter and/or a weekend driver that you work on as you go.
The floor pans, frame rails, torque boxes, etc. are all in nice original shape.
The car will require body work to both rear quarter panels (lower) and to the fiberglass front valance panel and attachments. I do not see anywhere on the car that would require any type of full panel replacement (if you have a good paint/body guy that knows how to work with the correct body restoration materials & tools).
The one thing youwill notice is the original interior is in excellent condition. There is not a cut or a tear or anything on the interior. I would not touch the interior of the car (yes, its that nice) right down to the original carpeting.
I have over 50 photos of the car including each panel and underbody - Please e mail me, directly, at (stephenbecker@bellsouth.net) for those photos and I will e-mail them direct (back) to you.
Please ask questions! I am happy toanswer all questions and photograph anything you do not see in the photo link. You are more then welcome and encouraged to come and inspect the car. The car is at my beach house in Charleston, SC and available to view with a 24 hour notice.
The car is listed in both the SAAC (Shelby American Automobile Club) international registry and the Shelby American/TeamShelby factory databases.
