Description

1986 Ford Thunderbird (Turbo Coupe) with 37 thousand actual miles. This is the 4 cylinder turbo with the 5 speed manual trans and power everything. It has power seats, mirrors, windows, antenna, door locks, seat lumbar.... very well equipped by 1986 standards. AC blows cold and has been very well maintained. It's in fantastic shape! ZERO rust, and I have nothing negative to tell you about it. I've owned it for a couple years but have only driven it 3 or 4 times. It just doesn't get used much and I've realized I spend more time taking care of it than enjoying it so I've decided to maybe let it go. It's difficult to find cars in this type of original condition and as I like to say.... something is only original once!
This is a beautiful car that you could hop in a drive across the country right now. This body style isn't necessarily the most highly sought after car as far as classic cars go but if you like 80's tbirds then you probably want the 5 speed manual turbo. This is the one people want IMHO. And the red with charcoal interior is a nice combo that is still relevant in my mind. This tbird is ready to go to a show as is. I've always wanted to put some nice wheels on her but never got around to it. These cars can look real sexy with the right wheel / height combination.
There have been some upgrades done for better turbo performance but I have all the original parts. I also have a complete set of dealer manuals and various maintenance / ownership records going all the way back to the original owner.
This is a no reserve auction that I've started out at my absolute minimum. I think it should go for more but I like to do auctions that way. I require a non-refundable $500 deposit within 24 hours of the end of the auction. The balance will be due on or before pick up, not to exceed 1 week from the auction ending. If you want to have it shipped then you will need to do the legwork on figuring all that out. Just FYI, I purchased this car from Texas a few years ago and it cost $1,000 to have in shipped to Michigan.

This is a rare car in rare condition. The winning bidder will not be disappointed. Also, I have the car for sale locally so I reserve the right to end this auction early if it sells locally.

Happy bidding!
