1992 GEO METRO CONVERTIBLE- WHITE AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSION
Description
1992 White Geo Metro Convertible LSiIf you are looking for a great little car that gets great gas mileage and won't give you any problems, this is the car for you! It costs approximately $20-$25 to fill up this car... and it runs forever!
Why am I selling it?This car is my second Geo Metro convertible 'baby.' My original 1991 got rusty after being in Ohio for quite some time. I am ONLY selling this car because my son is turning 16 soon, he just hit 6'4" tall and is getting a new car. There is no reason for us to have as many cars as we do. If not for that reason, this car would not be available for sale.
This car has only "lived" in the southern United States. It has never been in climates that would allow it to be affected by the winter and salted roadways. As far as I can tell from the paperwork, the car has only had 3 owners, myself included. The car is 25 years old so please do not expect it to be perfect. It is almost a 'Historic Vehicle.'
Here is EVERYTHING I can tell you about the car. I will start with all of the positive attributes of this car and will also list all of the imperfections I know about.
- 92 Geo Metro convertible
- The car has 150,986 miles on it. The service records record mileage at 84,000 in the late 1900s, so I assume the odometer has rolled over. There is only space for 5 digits on the odometer so I have to assume.
- Car body was repainted original factory white September 2012
- Convertible top was replaced in June 2012 and is in pristine condition
- Car seats and doors were reupholstered November 2009
- Original owners manual with uncut plastic key
- Automatic transmission
- 4 new tires purchased and installed in August 2016/ Needs a new spare
- This car is spacious! It was driven be someone 6'2" tall for years.
- This car has a HUGE trunk. The car can fit 2 large suitcase in it. One in the trunk and one in the space behind the 2 bucket seats.
- There is a foam 'seat' behind the 2 bucket seats... just in case you need to put someone small in the space behind the 2 seats. There is NOT a seatbelt back there. This is a 2 passenger car.
- New drivers side mirror installed today- parts for this car are ultra reasonably priced
- Car battery purchased within the last year
- New carpet installed over the old carpet
- The seats were reupholstered in 2011. I purchased the wrong fabric so they have faded in the sun. They are still grey and match the interior.
- Front window sun shade included
- Car cover included with purchase
- 2 keys
- Recent oil change- The sticker requires the car's next oil change 5000 miles from now.
- Removable face radio with case for the face, USB and AUX cable inputs
- Aftermarket additional car power outlet installed
- Aftermarket trunk "pop" installed (needs to be serviced/ tweeked)
- There is a gentleman in Selma, NC who collects and repairs these cars. He replaced the a/c compressor in August 2010- a/c needs to be recharged- Old freon a/c system. I am happy to share his contact information with you.
Not so great things about this vehicle. I want to let you know everything I know. Remember this is a 25 year old vehicle!!
- The a/c system needs to be recharged. There is no cool air/ a/c right now.
- The plastic interior vents have deteriorated and a few of the slats have cracked (see photos).
- There are 3 'splits' in the vinyl/ plastic dashboard on its top surface (see photos).
- The car has a hole in the muffler somewhere. Because of the placement of the damage, it was not worth it to me to get it fixed. The car is NOT ridiculously loud. No one looks at you because of the noise when you drive the car. They do look because they often have no idea what kind of car it is.
- The front driver corner of the bumper has been scratched and touched up with touch up paint (see photos).
- There are small dents in the top of the trunk lid.
- I had a small magnet attached to the trunk lid just to the left of the center brake light. Evidently, the sun 'baked' the magnet onto the car. There is a yellowish stain (approximately 2' x 4") just to the left of the brake light (see photos).
- The driver window is scratched vertically. There must be a piece of metal inside the car door that rubs up against the window intermittently. It doesn't make noise or anything. (see photos)
- There is NOT a warranty of any kind on this vehicle. It is being sold AS IS.
- Look at the ACCIDENT REPORT information. I have an invoice from May 1998 that shows the right/ passenger door was replaced. I never knew that until I created this listing. There are absolutely no signs of any damage ever having been done to the passenger side of the car.
- Look at the ODOMETER DISCREPANCY information. This information says the car has exceeded it's 'mechanical limits' in 1997 at 17,131 miles. That is insane!! Please consider both the 'accident' and 'odometer discrepancy' RATIONALLY.

Please feel free to email me if you have additional questions. I will answer them to the best of my ability. The car is located in Raleigh, NC and I am happy to make arrangements for you to see it, test drive it, etc.
I prefer payment in cash, by money order or via PayPal. A refundable deposit of $1,000 is required at the end of the auction. If you choose to purchase the car at the Buy It Now price, immediate payment is required. I will NOT accept cashier's or personal checks. This car is being sold AS IS WITHOUT A WARRANTY!
