1994 Geo Prizm, Toyota Corolla, Made by US Electricar.
Complete Electric Vehicle. Was working, not currently working, comes with spare parts and spare motor controller. Very fixable.
This professionally factory built EV is quick and drives like a normal midsize car. The design is unique with the battery weight underneath the car so its as stable as a regular sedan. Maintains freeway speeds (55-70 MPH) and goes around 50 miles at this speed using the current lead acid batteries, A lithium pack would allow the car to drive further. Car was operational but is now parked, new battery pack may need be needed.
This is a first generation electric car and is consider a significant historic vehicle. There is a blog available to where these vehicles are maintained with the help of other similar USE vehicle owners.

Clean title, no accidents. Currently has been in planned non-operation and doesn't run. We have the electrical diagram. Could be a good project vehicle for a collector, or used for parts.

We also have the original GEO owners manual and electrical diagrams that we will include so that the buyer can fix this car and understand how all electric cars work, not just this one (pictured). We have a refurbished and checked spare motor controller, that we can provide if needed.
Background of the vehicle:
US Electic Car was a joint venture company between Hughes and GM. Together Hughes and GM worked to develop an freeway capable electric vehicle, using DC batteries and a AC three phase electric motor. Before which electric vehicles used just DC motors.
The technology they developed was the motor controller, that synthetically transformed the 400 volts DC from the car's battery pack, to become three phase AC power, by the use of IGBT's. This is the same method that all EV cars use today and moreover all solar grid tie inverters!
After the development of this car in 1994 or so, GM was able to develop the famous EV-1 Car and a S-10 Truck using this same AC propulsion type technology. This has been now the adopted standard of most all electric vehicles driving today. In fact, Tesla use a variant of this same motor and controller in the roadster and licensed the technology from AC Propulsion Company. Tesla developed the better lithium battery, as was experienced from a test car, made by AC Propulsion Company. Thus the start of the Tesla company.
So, this car was the beginning design of the electric vehicles we have today. I think this car will maintain it's historical significance and become more of a collector item.
