Description

1957 GMC BIG BACK WINDOW factory HYDRAMATIC short bed stepside!!!!!!!!!!! UP FOR YOUR BIDDING PLEASURE....
This is a RARE pickup ordered as a factory TURQUOISE / White TUTONE, 6 cyl.-HYDRAMATIC, with dual sun-visors,cig. lighter, ash tray, CLOCK, driver armrest, DELUXE cab BIG BACK GLAS, with the STAINLESS-CHROME accents. The turquoise color is the most iconic and desired in these old GM trucks. She is called "Ole Blue" see beer bottle through windshield. A very solid truck-doors close, latch, lock with key, chrome windows and wind wings work. I was told this is a 3 gen. family owned truck, Grandpa to son, then down to his son. Originally Texas pickup drove to Oklahoma by grandson, was told it was last drove by him about 3 -4 years ago. I believe this to be true as it does have newer tail lights, seat covers, headliner, visor covers. Oil and transmission fluid clean. I have not had time to tinker with this great truck. Water was drained by thieves( bottom hose cut) as was battery cables and parts of wire harness. Looks like they were trying to steal radiator but did not happen. "copper thieves" so owner move the truck from barn next to his house and decided to sell. I don't have the time or space right now as I have 14 other GMC & Chevy pickups. I have owned this truck for 3 years, it is worthy of a total nut and bolt restoration. Doors lock with key as does the glove box and have the original ignition key. Bed in good condition and still has 80% of it's original wood, but will need replaced. Has great GMC tailgate. Rolls, steers, tires hold air, 1 with slow leak. The wide whitewalls can be reused with your new tires "port-a-walls". Small rust in cab corners, driver step small, cab floor solid, see pics, only 2 tiny spots. Over head lights are solid. This is one of the most solid pickups I've seen that has not been restored. Not perfect but a great plat form for ratrod, shop truck PATINA ride or do a 100 point restoration as it is a very rare and desirable truck 1957 gmc's are a unique year!!! The windshield might have a crack {see pic of beer bottle} Chrome/emblems look good. Have headliner and front lower grill valence, see pics for detailed description. Thanks for looking.
