1987 GMC Sierra Classic 2500 Turbo Diesel
Description
1987 GMC Serria Classic. Good solid truck, drive it anywhere. I've owned this truck for almost 30 years and have always tried to keep it in prefect condition. It has been garaged most of it's life and spent about five years in Arizona so the body is very solid. When it had to sit outside I kept it covered. It has a 6.2L diesel engine with a Gale Banks turbo charger kit. The engine is not original and has about 100K on it. It runs perfectly and doesn't burn oil. The transmission is a four speed SM465. It has 3/4 ton axles with 3.42 gears. I rebuilt the axles about 4 years ago and replaced everything at that time. New Mickey Thomson rims, tires, wheel cylinders, calipers, brake hoses, brake hardware, shock absorbers, leaf springs, ball joints, tire rods, universal joints etc. All the options work as they should. This includes the air conditioning, power windows, power locks, cruise control. I replaced the original seat a few years ago with one from a newer truck. I didn't drill any new holes when I did this and still have the original seat that is in perfect condition if you don't like the replacement seat. The new seat is much more comfortable for long trips. In 2004 there was surface rust on the body below the trim line so I sand basted the rusty spots and painted everything below the body line with epoxy primer. I did this everywhere but on the passenger door and rocker panel. You can see in the pics the body looks good except now the passenger door and rocker panel has surface rust. All the paint above the trim is original. The truck also runs on waste WVO, waste vegetable oil, so you can drive for free it you choose to. It has a second fuel tank, lines and filter setup for this. If you like you can just burn diesel and forget about the veggie system. I'll fill up the veggie tank for you when take the truck so the first 300 some miles you can drive for free. Below is a link to a bunch more pictures.
