Description

Very rare 1955 2nd Generation Blue Chip Series GMC 100 Big WindowHistory:I’m selling my very rare and unique 1955 2nd series Deluxe Cab step side pickup. In 1955, GM built 2 different styles of pickups making this a more rare 2nd series truck for 1955. Chevrolet trucks were called Task Force where the GMC trucks were called Blue Chip Series. That makes this truck very unusual, collectable and much sought after. The 165th truck built in Oakland, CA

Drivetrain:

Ø350 cu.in. crate engine w/290 horsepower

ØRecirculating coolant tank for road trips

ØTH400 transmission

Ø12 bolt Chevy rear end with a 3.08 gear ratio

Ø80-85 mph highway speed at only 3000 rpms

ØYes a 700r or 4L60 would be better, but why fix what ain’t broke?

ØDress-up chrome of billet pulleys and brackets, alternator, and other stuff

ØAuto lock wiring nicely hidden

ØNeatly aligned A/C hoses disappear into the fender well

ØHood hinges were bead blasted and painted graphite

Chassis & Body:

Ø1972 Chevy truck sub-frame back to the 1st cab mount

ØStandard height so you don’t have to worry about speed bumps

ØFront power disc brakes, plenty of pad left

ØKoni adjustable shocks

ØPower steering

Ø“frame off” for you aficionados

ØExterior is an eggshell, matte finish in Gulf Turquoise with the color coordinated from outside to inside with red highlights

ØPolished stainless trim

ØChrome grille, emblems and door handles original to the truck and in good condition for their age

ØTail lights are LED

ØTailgate bed chains are new, but wrapped to protect the paint

ØNew oak bed floor with stainless steel strips, covered with a new mat for protection

ØSteele wheels with beauty rings and baby moons on P235/75R15 Toyo Spectrum Touring Radials; tons of tread left

ØWheels, emblems, and pin stripes are red for contrast accenting the turquoise finish

Interior:

ØSeats, carpet, headliner, are accented in color enhanced turquoise and red to match the outside of the truck.

ØDash and doors are painted in a gloss finish of turquoise and white for a contrasting look and feel of an original GMC

ØAll of the new Classic Instrument gages not only match, but they ALL WORK! There’s a surprise as most of the custom car world seem to leave out the fuel gauge when it comes to completing a set of gauges; or maybe that’s just MY arch nemesis

ØGM tilt steering column with the original 3-spoke GMC wheel

ØOriginal tube radio (light comes on but doesn’t make sound)

ØVintage Air heat, A/C, and defroster, works as designed

ØAnd probably the only truck where you will find the original Bakelite window cranks

Trades / Offers:

ØTrades for only a 2014 or newer crew cab, 4x4 w/low miles. What’s the worst I can say, “NO?”

ØI don’t answer unknown callers so you must leave a message on my phone so I know to call you back.

It is, or will be for sale locally so I will delete the ad if sold and if the ad is still up, then it’s still for sale. No I don’t need help selling it

I’m not a go-and-sit-at-a-car-show type guy. I drive the truck most every day and it is my daily driver. I have put over 11,000 miles on it driving it all over the state. The only reason I’m selling it is because I will either use the money to refurbish my home or replace my outdated 4x pickup; thus the reason for possible trades. If I trade, then I have an excuse not to redo my wife’s bathroom

The truck is located in Cave Creek, AZ on the north end of Phoenix

I will accept a bank to bank wire transfer or cash only. Sorry Scammers. Call me to arrange for deposit and final payment

Buy it and enjoy your new ride! I know I have and I’m really sorry to see it go. I looked 34 yrs to find this one
