1949 GMC 3100 / Chevy Pickup Truck
Description
This is a GMC "100" 1/2 ton truck. 350/350 automatic, power disc brakes. This is a "rat rod" style truck, it has all new tinted glass, new front and rear window seals, new door latches, new aftermarket gauges and senders, new turn signal switch/ ignition switch, and a B&M shifter. All the cloth covered wiring has been replaced with modern wires. The seat has been redone with new burlap/foam/pleated seat cover. The floor is coated with bed liner .The body has been clear coated and looks good for its age, it has assorted dents/imperfections one would expect for a nearly 70 year old truck. Tail light are from a vintage 1949 ford car with new sockets installed.
Engine is a good running chevy 350, probably of early 70's vintage. It has a rebuilt edlebroc 600 cfm carburetor, HEI distributor, new plugs and wires, new aluminum radiator/electric fan, hoses, new corvette style exhaust manifolds, mandrel bent pipes, and glass pack mufflers, New gas tank under the bed, new fuel lines and electric fuel pump. it sounds good! The engine has been rebuilt at some point, the warranty seal is visible on one of the freeze plugs. A new battery sits in the original location under the floor.
Trans is an automatic 350. New speedo and trans kick down cables, new hard trans lines and fluid. The brake system has been replaced with a more modern system, consisting of dual circuit POWER DISCs in front, and a gm 10 bolt rear end with new wheel cylinders. all the hard and soft lines have been replaced as well. The truck has been lowered both front and rear, the shock mounts have been relocated to compensate, so it actually rides pretty nice for an old truck! It is sitting on vintage Cragar SS wheels with new tires all around and new lug nuts, Deep dish in the rear, relatively skinny ones on the front, so it steers nice and easy! The truck has not been driven very far or fast since being put back together as it has no tags/insurance, but it seems to drive nice for what little driving has been done with it. Expect that it may need some tinkering/adjusting/finishing, it is not a new truck!
