The 1988 models did have a colder natured carburetor, so if the engine is cold, it takes a few minutes. Sometimes if the truck hasn't been running for a while, you will also see some blue smoke when you first crank it up, but it quickly clears up. Just a usual older truck. This truck has not been abused or used to tow much at all.
