Please call for an eBay buy it now for this fully documented GMC truck. 978-939-5053. Whens the last time you viewed a 70 year old truck with original paint and documentation like this old girl? Please look over 80 photos below. This old 1948 GMC half ton pick up truck was purchased brand new in 1948 by the original owner and used mostlyonly on the farm. It was always kept inside the barn and serviced at the original dealership where he purchased the truck brand new. You will also notice the woodside boards the original owner used on the farm in excellent condition. I have removed the wood side boards that are over 65 years oldand they will go with the truck when sold. You can tell by the side boards great original conditionhow this truck was in dry storage for decades. Check out how clean the truck is underneath with original spare tirewith its original keylock. This truck has it's 100% original paint, motor, transmission and rear end from day one 1948. All numbers match. Also I photographed the beautifulhighoil pressure at 60 pounds while running in my driveway. Also check out the rare dealer installed AM Radio under the dash with rare optional factoryheater.
The original owner after getting out of World War II alsopurchased a brand new 1946 Pontiac 8 cylinder torpedo back convertible from the Pontiacdealership in fall river MA. GMC pick up truck was also purchased new in fall river Ma as original bill of sale shows. He drove the Pontiacconvertible just over6000 original miles till 1955 and put the car up on blocks with Marvel mystery oil in all eight cylinders to preserve the motor all lubricated. Two years later he purchased this 1948GMC 1/2 ton pickuptruck you see listed here on eBay.
I purchased both vehicles and now have them home in my barn. You will see photos of both vehicles as they were parked inside for decades with marvel mystery oil lubrication in both motors for longstorage. I am also listing the 1946 Pontiac this week on eBay with 100% original paint untouched, 6850 original miles, 100% numbers matching from day one. You will see photos of both vehicles this eBay as they sat in his garage barn. You can see both vehicles as they were removed from the barn covered with barn dust. True barn finds. This GMC truck has only been registered once in the last 70 years and the new owner will be the 2nd registered owner since new in 1948. A great story to boast to your car collector friends at car shows.
I also took photos at my home before and after I cleaned the GMC truck. Once again rust free and always garaged. I hand rubbed every inch of the GMC which took days with no mechanical buffer andall done by hand with no original paint loss. With three applications of polishing wax the old girl came back to life and looks amazing now. I also polished all the bright work as seen before and after. I have over $5000 in receipts for mechanicalmaintenance that was just done on the truckwhich includes new fuel pump, rebuilt carburetor, new hoses, belt, points, wires, plugs, condenser, all new gas tank, complete brake shoes, wheel cylinders, master cylinder, brake rubber lines and more, too much to list!!!
You will see his license plate pairshe kept from the RMV over the years. TheRMV in Massachusetts would give a new set of license plates each year for new registration. He also kept every stamped datedregistration slipfrom 1948 to1978. Look at the photos and you will see all his registrations from 1948 till he stopped driving the GMC in 1978 and just the way he left it parked in the barn for decades out of the weather. You will also see his original Bill of Sale listing all optionsfrom the dealership where he purchased the truck brand new alongwith oil change receipts each year, owners manual and more. I have a ton of original paperwork on both cars. The original owner never threw anything away. This truck was only registered once in the last 70 years by the original owner. When comparing same size Chevy and GMC frames of the same year, most people are unaware that the GMC frame is longer than the Chevy frames. This is to accommodate the longer motor. Remember that GMC engines were truck engines and not car engines adapted to trucks like Chevrolet trucks. Full pressure oiling and inset bearings from 1939 make a GMC a truck motorwith the 228cid 6 cylinder. You will also see the rear bumper removed for his wood side rack for easy access to load the rear of the truck with hay.
Without a doubt one of the most documented 1940’s trucks you will ever find all original. Please call me. I'm not great with emails and I can answer all your questions and tell you more about this truck in detail. This truck runs and drives like new with no smoke and always serviced where it was purchased new as you will see in the photos. The true definition of a barn find and a needle in the haystack to find all original paintnumbers matching and fully documented. Please come for a nice test drive. All inspections are welcome.
