1953 gmc 3/4 ton truck - original patina style, stake sides, California truck
Description
1953 GMC ¾ Ton pickup. Model 150-22. Original matching black plates, always running and registered. Fun driver and always gets the thumbs up.
Exterior: Nice looking patina paint with some surface rust showing through. Bit of stronger rust along belt line and starting to bubble a little in cab corners. Rear window is cracked, but windshield and door windows are new and clean. Replaced wood bed with Ipe hardwood decking, maintained original metal strips. Nice old wood stake sides and head board. Tailgate functions nicely, but passenger side could use some repair to the mount. Head lights and tail lights currently do not function. I started to wet sand through the lighter green paint to reveal original green color. Quite a bit of sanding left to go, but will look amazing when it's finished and cleared.
Interior: Decent driver condition. Seat is good with one small tear on driver side. Radio is missing, but dash is not cut. Replaced door panels, needs a new head liner. Some of the gauges work, some do not.
Mechanics: Strong running straight six. Appears to have been replaced at some point due to work on the firewall. 4 speed manual transmission floor shift. Pretty much all original otherwise. Runs great, stops fine. Currently has original split rims with all four matching hubcaps. Tires have bad flat spots from sitting for a couple years. Can include a set of newer 8-lug rollers if desired.
Misc: Clean title in my name. Current registration with no fees. Starting collecting misc parts to use this as a fun weekend driver, but found something else that peaked my interest more.
