Description

This auction is for a completely original 1957 GMC short bed step side pickup 100 series 1/2 ton The truck has the original 270 cubic inch engine that has been rebuilt with less than 5,000 mileson it and I have the receipts from the machine shop.it starts instantly and runs like a top with 60 pounds of oil pressure.Last years the brakes were completely gone through with new master cylinder, wheel cylinder, hoses ect, so it has excellent brakes. Other work was done at the time totalling over $2900 . The carburetor was rebuilt, speedometer rebuilt, axles seals ect. It's in great mechanical condition and drives very well. The steering and suspension are tigh, so it drives like it should. No problem driving it anywhere it is registered and licensed in California. The truck was assembled in Oakland and has always been in the Sacramento area owned by the same family for over 50 years. It was originally Dover White and I believe the grille was red, mostly it has the original paint, but places have been touched up. It has the original 15 inch split rims and amazingly the original seat that is in good condition and has never been recovered. It has the original radio and the dash has not been alter in any way even the glove box interior is there and in pretty good shape. The bed has some diamond plate place over the original wood that is there but needs to be replaced. There are some dents one in the cab corner, but not so bad an easy fix. The floors are solid with a coule small place that could be cleaned up and painted, there are no rust throuhd. It does have some rust in the passenger door, but thats about it, the door can be fixed easily enough. The bed sides and top rails are vitally dent free as is the tail gate. The frame is excellent with no pitting. The truck is mechanically excellent can be driven everyday just like it is or restored to new condition, with a little body and paint work.Great candidate for original restoration. I will assist your shipper or if you want to drive it I can store it for up to 90 days after payment.
