1987 GMC Sierra R2500 Pickup Truck
Last year of the “Squarebodies”
This truck has been my daily driver/work truck for two years. It is currently registered and insured as an antique/classic so no inspection required. Just finished converting it from the original TBI to carb, completely new front breaks from bearings to pads, new control arm, fairly new goodyear tires all around, and has an ARE bed topper with side and rear access. 8 lug 3/4 ton axle.
This truck has been my running work truck project with the goal of converting it to a live in camper truck. Unfortunately circumstances will not allow me to spend any more money on it.
It is now parked and needs a new head gasket. Gasket blew on me two weeks ago. There is no damage to the engine or otherwise. It currently starts right up and is driveable, other than the gasket issue.
This is a great truck heading in a easily restored direction if desired. Frame is in great shape and lots of new parts installed.
The good:
North Dakota truck/second owner
Some New items are:
Summit 500/600 carb
Weiland warrior intake
Fuel pressure regulator
Filter
HEI high output Distributor
Battery
Like new Goodyear Tires
Front brakes (rotors, pads, calipers, bearings, lines)
Control arm
Two new Thrush mufflers
Newer tow hitch
Engine block heater
ARE bed topper
The bad:
Body rust, paticularly the cab corners
Head gasket needs replacement
Rear breaks need to be done
Speedo needs to be connected
Please contact if you have any questions. Truck must go soon. Perfect donor for restoration, parts, or keep it going on the road. Hate to see it go to the crusher over a head gasket.
