Barn Find from the Nevada Desert! 1949 GMC Pickup that has just completed an extensive rebuild.

Previous owner titled this pickup in 1970, and had it stored on his Northern Nevada Ranchfrom mid-1970s until I purchased it in the Spring of 2015. Engine had been completely rebuilt and drivenless than 5000 before storage. When brought out of mothballs, engine was carefully serviced prior to startup and engine runs smooth, strong and even. Dry compression is an even 90 psi in each cylinder, and oil pressure is 60 psi on cold start up, 30 psi after warm up.

My extensive rebuild of this truck included the following:

Strippedall metal of paint and replaced the rear cab and front door post metal with new parts. Repaired minor dents and rusted spots on all four fenders, hood and cab.Replaced all glass and new rubber seals, replaced all felt, rubber and window guides in doors.Replaced seals on firewall and under Cab vents (top and side). Seat repaired and professionally re-upholstered.All new brake shoes, cylinders and hoses after turning brake drums. New Master Cylinder. Replace bushings in all four hydraulic shock absorbers. Replaced spring shackle that needed repair. Replaced Park brake cable drivers side.

Replaced: Fuel pump, Water pump, Upgraded to 12 volt alternator, Carburetor,

Horn & horn relay, Wiring converted to 12V, Exhaust system including: Manifold, exhaust pipe, muffler and tail pipe. Radiator, Fan Belt, Spark Plugs, Plug wires, Oil filter, Battery and cables, New mirrors inside and out, Stop light switch, Headlight switch, and Dimmer switch (headlights). Installed new Speedometer gauge, cigar lighter, heater motor (12v) and switch. Also new horn button, water temp gauge under dash (backup in case original was not accurate)

Original snap-ring wheels upgraded toalloy 15” (standard size) with good tires.

WORK COMPLETED ON BODY: Minor rust repairs made by carefully fitting and welding in new steel panels. New bed side panels, front panel, bed strips, wood, tail gate chains on bed. Rebuilt and installed fenders with stainless hardware. Installed new chrome tail lights and license plate holder. Installed add on turn signal system.New drivers door outside handle.Installed new chrome grill, front chrome bumper, splash pan. New wiper arms and blades.New chrome headlight rims, 12v headlight bulbs.New chrome park/turn signal lights.New headliner, door panels, sun-visor, arm rests, re-upholstered seat, new sound deadener felt pad and floor mat.New rubber on clutch, brake, park brake and starter switch. Inside door seal.Repaired and repainted steering wheel and installed cover.

Remaining items: Because I’m not physically able to get under the dashboard, the buyer will need to complete the following items: connect the dash lights, vacuum windshield wiper linkage, and defroster tubes.
