1970 GMC 2500 2WD pickup with Chevrolet hood
Description
Up for auction is a 1970 GMC 3/4 ton two wheel drive pickup. It started its life in California and went to Oklahoma in 1999. From there it wound up in New Mexico where I purchased it last fall. I had it trucked in to New Jersey and I am selling it to the highest bidder. It comes with a clear Oklahoma title. The odometer reads 70,493 but I am sure this is not the original miles. The truck has a 1965 Impala SS 327 engine with a four barrel carb backed up with a truck four speed transmission. It runs and I have driven it up and down the road in front of my house but I have not had it licensed. The clutch and brakes work but it probably should be checked over before putting it on the road. The truck has been off the road for a few years. I opened up the fuel tank and it looks clean inside. There is a crack in the windshield and it will need the seat recovered and a dash pad. The body is very solid with minor rust in the rockers. The truck was used as truck and as such has dings and dents but the rust is mostly all surface rust. This is a great body to work with. The doors and tailgate open and close great. The floors, cab corners and fenders show how the dry climate and no road salt is kind to a forty seven year old body. It comes with a spare tire and wheel and an extra steering box. The truck is an excellent candidate for a restoration or clear coat the patina and build your own Farm Truck. It does have a Chevrolet hood on it as someone stole the original when it was in storage.Pease feel free to come and inspect the truck in Ringoes NJ 08551.
