1994 Honda Civic Si 3-Door 3dr Hatchback HB 1.6L D16z6 Low Miles Project
Description
This is a project car. Sold as is, where is with no reserve. I will do my best to be complete and honest. I am sure I will miss some details. But, I will make sure to hit all the negatives I know of. This car has been sitting for about 7 years. I started to upgrade a lot of things but I started having back problems and it sat for a long time. The first maybe 5 years were inside a heated/cooled garage. The last 1-2 have been outside. It should be pickedupby trailer until it can be safety checked. I purchasedon 4/30/2008 from a teacher that was moving and shipping was too expensive. It was his daily driver. He said his friend's dad bought it new and had it untilthe teacher bought it. I should be the 3rd owner. Please excuse it being dirty. Every time I wash it, I decide to keep it and it needs to go to someone who can enjoy it.
The Good:Mostly original low mile Civic Si with 137,719 miles. Title says exempt odometer though (maybe due to age?). True Si's are getting more and more rareI pulled a Carfax when I bought it and it was clear. It has had no accidents with me. Mileage seemed to add uplooking at the Carfax history. 3 original keys, 2 Keys and1 that looks like a valet keyI only drovethe car a short time before I startedthis project. No motor or trans swap. Original Motor and TransNo major issues when I parked it. It will still crank easily and I move it around my driveway.Royal purple in trans and engineinterior in decent condition for age, typical Driver's seat bolster tear, non-smoker
Parts replaced while parked(some new, some refurbished) it has been sitting so long I make no guarantees:Valves adjusted and valve cover gasket replaced, new plugs dist cap and rotorNew RadiatorNew battery- maybe 3 years ago, I disconnect when not in use and trickle charge occasionally New Honda outer seals in transmission(CV's and input shaft), aftermarket CV Boots Inboard and OutEnergy suspension bushings installed in Front Susp./Shift Linkage, Rears with trailing arm bushingsare included but not installedEibach Front sway bar,Rear included but you have to change some parts to install on a hatchbackSkunk2 Pro-S coil overs installed- these don't have brake line brackets, so they will have to be fabbed(Brake lines zip tied or loose now), The original Shocks/struts will be includedSkunk2 Front and Rear Camber Kits installedReman. Integra power steering rack installed(quicker ratio), Original Rack includedGoodridge stainless brake lines all 4 cornersNew Brake pads and Rotors all 4 cornersReman Brake booster and master cylinder. Sony cd player with remote, Sony door speakers, and I think Kenwood rear speakers, powered sub included.Cold air intake, I have a piece of tubing out now for short ram setup but it is included, as is the original intakeLift shocks and Honda glass attachmentsEbay Stainless headers and exhaust system- original was rusted through
The Bad: I'll try togo fromworst to bestRust above the rear hatch approximately 2"x2.5", I treated it when I got the car, but it is starting to rust around the edges againRust in driver's rear quarter- in the normal place for these cars. bubbling paint but not through yet. Large dent behind passenger door. looks like it could be bumped out, no paint damage there. numerous little dings around car. After looking at youtube, I thought I could paint the car. I tried to paint the Driver's door and front fender. I scuffed the rear quarter as well. not great, but it is rattle can painted. Inner driver's door panel removed but I have it and it's included. Driver's handle and lock not working well. bought an ebay interior handle but something is still sticking or looseI threw a lot of the driver'sdoor moulding and partsaway planning to buy new stuff, but I never did. Easiest way to fix is probably to get a salvage door and switch the lockABS light is on, I believe I got air in the ABS pump and it has to be specially bleed with a Honda Tool. The brakes were bled and feel fine, but you would want tobleed or remove the ABS.Windshield cracked and moulding thrown away. A/c was working, but the last couple of times I cranked, It was not working. Cruise wasn't working, but the rubber bumper on the clutch pedal was missing and the clutch switch wasn't being pressed. I replaced it so the cruisemay work now, but I haven't tested it. Sunroof is sticking, It was like this when I bought it. I cleaned and lubed the rails and it worked great until recently. It should work again if cleaned and lubed.
I would love for this car to find a good home. I still love the look of it and it has taken me years to decide to sell it, but I don't have the time and energy tofinish it. I will not sell offline, so please don't ask. Purchase must go through Ebay. $500 deposit due within 24 hours of winning bid.
