1991 Honda Civic LX Sedan 4-Door 5 Speed OVERHEATED ENGINE DAMAGE! AS IS!
Description
Up for auction at no reserve, 1991 Honda Civic 5 speed with engine that was SEVERELY OVERHEATED! but still runs (coolant reservoir cap came off, ran out of coolant, didn't notice for several miles. Refilled with coolant but oil light stays on even though over filled with oil, smokes EXTREMELY badly after that incident, as you can clearly see in one of the pictures.
Also, the speedometer stopped working about 1000 miles ago, and the tachometer needle bounces around. It could just be a sensor issue, the same thing happened to my Prelude at 140k miles, but I wouldn't rule out that the transmission is on its way out either.
Numerous major interior and exterior cosmetic defects, just look at the pictures.
No radio.
Minor fender bender many years ago left the radiator and A/C condenser pushed inward slightly. Zero leaks however after many years. (was backed into while at a stop sign in a Walmart parking lot by a Toyota Tundra with trailer hitch).
OBVIOUSLY, this car is in overall VERY POOR CONDITION and IS NOT CONSIDERED DRIVEABLE, WHICH IS WHY I'M SELLING IT AS IS WITH NO RESERVE!
Power steering system removed, a NEW manual steering rack from a Civic DX was installed a few years ago.
Drivers side window fully functional. Passenger side power window can only be controlled from drivers side. The rear windows don't work at all.All power locks work except for the rear passenger side one that broke off and was rigged with a piece of wire.
on to the good....
Clean title, 2nd owner. Ad Valorem fees current.
4 good MICHELIN tires (see pics), with plenty of tread left. Frame, suspension, etc. in good condition.
$400 VERY DARK tints recently installed with "Lifetime" warranty. Genuine 3M film that wont fade, not the cheap junk you get for $99. You'll need to contact the business that installed the tints and see what if anything is still covered. (Paperwork proof included).
New timing belt/water pump kit recently installed, along with new catalytic converter, I planned to drive this car forever until the overheating incident. (Paperwork proof included).
4 Alpine type S 6" speakers installed (see pics), just drop in any receiver and you're good to go. (see picture, all 4 speakers are the same.)
No electrical system issues, electrical system is in good condition and has not been tampered with, except for A/C system, see below:
A/C system is clean and will hold refrigerant, never converted to garbage r134a, I was using an "alternative" refrigerant called "enviro-safe" for years with perfect results new compressor and receiver/dryer installed a couple years ago. Filled with Ester type oil. However, the auxiliary condenser fan and relay are missing completely. Using Enviro-Safe refrigerant, I was able to get 41 degree Fahrenheit vent temps on a warm summer day, while misting the condenser coil with the garden hose as can be seen in the picture. This was at about 3500 RPM engine speed, the same speed that produces the extreme amount of smoke that can be seen in the picture...The bare minimum to get the A/C working would be to install the missing auxiliary condenser fan, and restore all the electrical work to the condenser fan and compressor clutch.
AGAIN, IT SHOULD BE OBVIOUS THAT THIS IS A JUNK CAR UN UN DRIVEABLE CONDITION! PLEASE BE AWARE OF WHAT YOU ARE BIDDING ON! DO NOT EXPECT A DRIVEABLE CAR! WINNING BIDDER WILL NEED TO SHOW UP WITH SOME WAY TO TOW OR HAUL THE CAR AWAY!
ANY OTHER QUESTIONS NOT COVERED HERE, FEEL FREE TO ASK! AND RESOLVE ANY QUESTIONS PRIOR TO BIDDING!
