1992 Honda Accord EX CB7 w/ front ROH Builder Car Rolling Shell
Description
I bought this car 3 years ago to daily-drive while my other car was in the shop. I was going to keep it as a grocery getter/summer car, but my circumstances have changed, and I have taken on other projects while this car is just sitting and collecting pine needles.
PROS:
+Runs and drives.
+It's a '92, meaning no more emissions testing.
+Gets over 300 miles to a tank.
+Has new valve cover gasket kit installed, and yes, that includes the spark plug o-rings under the rocker assembly.
+Has newer radiator and both hoses.
+Has a front rotor-over-hub swap. If you know anything about '90s Honda Accords, then you'd know that front rotor changes are a nightmare. The solution is to use the front hubs and rotors of a '98 Acura CL 2.3L.
+That being said, the car has newer brakes with less than 3000 miles on them.
+ Tinted windows
+A/C blows cold, heat works as well.
+Ground wires have been upgraded
+Has RFID push start/stop ignition.
+Has a makeshift oil catch can to keep oil out of the intake manifold
CONS:
-Not currently registered
-Clearcoat on hood is peeling.
-Has rock chips on windshield, not cracked, but will need to be repaired right away
-Sunroof is cracked, but does not leak, or open for that matter--- probably bad fuse
-Power steering leaks, can't tell is the pump is shot.
-Leaks oil, not sure from where.
-Possibly leaks transmission fluid, but I haven't really seen drops of it on the ground
-Shifts a little rough, could use a transmission flush (drain, fill, drive, repeat 3 times)
-Front frame is a little bent, noticed this when I replaced the radiator.
-No radio or speakers
-No keyless entry, ironic, I know.
-Dead battery, starts okay with jump start
-Power locks act up with the battery not holding a charge
-Could really use some new suspension parts, if you're mechanically inclined, look up 172095432107 on eBay
-Not so much a con, but previous owner installed a trunk organizer from an Accord Wagon in the trunk. Never bothered me.
With all the abovementioned issues, car is being sold AS IS--- a rolling shell with a somewhat functional drivetrain--- a mechanics' special, a BUILDER CAR, if you will. I'd drive it to the grocery store down the street, but I'd be pushing my luck if I drove it on the freeway.
If you're mechanically inclined, this is a package of user-serviceable parts and will save you a lot of junkyard pulls.
