Description

This Milano Red eg6 hatchback began life as a 1992 DX civic hatchback. I am the 4th owner in the life of this original condition Japanese collectible tuner car and most of the modifications were done at my behest.
It began life with me as a dream of building a clean JDM EG civic hatchback with the philosophy of "form follows function"
I've owned it for four years. At this point I am purchasing property and ready to let this car go to a good home to continue it's build.
Anyway, On to the car!
The venerable 1.5 liter D15b7 engine was replaced by a 1.8 liter b18c1 OBD1 Gsr engine swapped in from an Acura integra GSR.
In the last 1000 miles this engine has had:
  • Valve job in the head with Skunk2 valves installed.
  • Honda OEM timing belt installed at the same time.
  • Honda OEM head gasket
  • NGK Sparkplug wires
  • Fresh OEM spec fluids

While the engine was being tended to, a Mugen Replica twin loop exhaust was installed from the cat back.
Visually the car is very basic. On the exterior the Milano red paint still shines. It spots a Spoon replica ABS duckbill spoiler, front lip and Spoon Sw388 replica wheels manufactured by Rota - the classic Rota Slipstream.
It is sitting on stock civic suspension at this time. A set of Buddy Club JDM adjustable dampening coilovers are included in the purchase.
Inside is completely stripped out except for the stock dash and two GSR black leather seats. Around the driver and passenger wraps an Art Morrison 8 point roll cage professionally installed by designer fabricator of 40 years experience. This serves to protect the occupants and stiffen the chassis and reduce flex considerably for the future wish of track days.
Brakes are drilled front rotors with stock DX drums in the back. Complete rear disc conversion included with buy-it-now price.
Original OEM rear plastics are included with this car:
  • Rear hatch cover plastic
  • Rear plastic side panels
  • Rear seats and seatbelts
  • Center console plastics
  • OEM rear cargo cover in black

Additional parts included:
  • OEM honda floor mats
  • 4 OEM honda steel wheels
  • GSR rear disc conversion kit
  • Gauge cluster with tach
  • Buddy club JDM coilover setup
  • OEM honda power steering and manual transmission fluid bottles x2

Some of the cons of this vehicle are:
  • Original paint has some scratches - see pictures
  • Classic Honda 3rd gear grind in the gsr transmission
  • classic engine smoking under load is very pronounced. Likely will need bottom end work in the near future for rings. I didn't do it while I was in there and I probably should have.
  • Hood has dimpling near the front - see pictures
  • GSR leather front seats have been patched

This car runs, drives and stops well. Not many of these cars are am example of an original survivor as this one is.
It has always been a Washington car, with no body rust whatsoever. The typical spot in the rear wheel well looks perfect, with original undercoating intact and no signs of rust.
Watch civics in this shape be worth $15,000 in five years as our crowd that grew up on these cars have better and better adult jobs.
