Description
This '91 Civic wagon was owned by a retired couple in Florida for the first 15 years. I got it 10 years ago from their grandson with 272K miles and a tired engine. I replaced the engine with a 95K engine from my other Civic and at 312K replaced the Trans with a 60K unit and a new Torque Converter. So the math says the engine has 155K, trans 80K and tc 20K. I've done normal maintenance as needed (exhaust, tie rods, ball joints, control arms, wheel bearings, brakes, tires, alternator & belt, radiator, tune-up parts, timing belt; main relay; power steering rack, battery, etc. the last two most recent). The new exhaust eventually rotted off about 3 feet back of the Cat 3 years ago so I stuck a 2"+ galvanized straight water pipe over the stub and kept going. It was mine or one of my kid's daily driver. I wanted to do a B-series or V-tech and 5 speed swap but no time and kids are all moving on.
The Good: Non smoker owned forever; Lower mileage mechanicals; Runs well; Minimal rust; Never been hit, Alpine AM/FM/CD player; 33-36 MPG, cruise 80 mph (this is Michigan, if you don't exceed the speed limit by 10 mph you're impeding traffic), no known leaks, Lights all work; great candidate for a swap; qualifies for Historic Vehicle Plates here.
The Bad: High mileage bodies scare some people; Probably needs a catback exhaust if the water pipe bothers you; AC needs to be charged and belt re-installed; Windshield has a crack; Torn typical driver's seat/bolster; Rust starting at rear wheel wells and - I didn't do the swap.
Prefer pickup within two weeks of auction end. I'll work with your shipper but will not make the arrangement.
If I think of, or do, anything else, I'll modify the post. Thanks for looking.
