Description

Hello Ebayers,I'm hoping if you have clicked on this auction, like me, you love these '90 - '93 generation Accords. They werebuilt with pride in Marysville, Ohio and in my opinion were really the last of the trulydependable, solidlybuiltand inexpensive to own Hondas, and tothis day have a loyal following. I have had the goodfortune to own a couple of them, each has been a faithful companion and given loyal service above and beyond the call of duty, never leaving me stranded. But never have I run across one in this spectacular original, preserved condition as this Mulberry Red Pearl example with just under 49,400 CARFAX Documentedmiles. I purchased this car very recently here in Vermont as I simply could notpass it up. And while it took me some time two days to fully detail it to this gleaming condition, there was no doubt in first seeing it, that this Florida "snowbird" car was just begging to be polished and detailed to this level and in return, would reward with these lustrous results. As a professional car painter myself and former longtime resident of Southern California, I have seen my share of truly mint condition older cars that have not been restored or tamperedwith. It's simply part of life in So Cal. But in Vermont, with it's harshwinters and salt covered roads, running across a car like this without have to spend $1500 to get it here was nothing short of mind-boggling. So I bought the car, fully intending to resell and hopefully make a fewdollars for my trouble andultimately put thisgorgeous 25 year old Accordinto the hands of a collector orenthusiast, kind of like Mike and Frank on American Pickers. I could not bear to see it destroyed by winter. I wouldkeep it myself, butsimply don't have the room in my normally full garage, which I emptied of 3 cars to take the pics in the link below. And infact have put my baby outside under a cover while I list this car. And believe me, it's not too happyabout that! So, I am going to take a chance and list the carin true auction form with NO RESERVE and start the bidding @ $19.91. I am that confident that the photos and description will attract the type of buyer that will appreciatethe car for what it is andultimately make me a couple of bucks. I can't be more honest than that. Combine that with my 100% feedback and hopefully that will inspire you to bid. So good luck!

HISTORY -
In viewing the CARFAX report, it shows the car spending it's life in Bradenton, Fl from 11/90 - 3/09, with just 34,653 miles by it's first lady owner. The second owner summered in Rutland, Vermont and wintered in Bradenton and kept the car until 10/2015 when they sold it to Good News Garage with just under 49,000 miles. They in turn sold it to the gentleman I purchased it from. He had hoped to detail the car as I did, but with familyresponsibilities, 3 other cars, no indoor storage and lacking thebudget to do the job properly, decided to let it go. And that's where I come in. After doing the work to the car, I invited theprevious ownerover to see thecar now and he was astounded at how nice it looked. The original paint, which was just dirty and had years of film from car washes and justgeneral use, now was crystal clear and vibrant. He was happy to see this car come back. Alsoaccordingto the CARFAX, it was always dealer serviced, by Hendrick Honda in Bradenton and Shearer Honda, here in Vermont.
EXTERIOR -
I can say with 100% certainly that the exterior of this Honda is still wearing it's original Honda factory applied 25 year old two stage Mulberry Red Pearl paint. The color simply gleams in the sun. It has some flaws as you would expect, a couple of small dings, some minor scratches and a couple of small gouges in the front & rear bumper covers and some paint loss on both mirror covers. The hood has some staining that is not easily noticed at first, but easier to see under my garage lights. There is also some minor checking in the clear towards the front portion of the hood and a few light scratches. I have tried to show these areas in the pics below. There is ZERO rust, ZERO paint bubbles from underlying rust and ZERO body filler or repairs and NO repainting of any kind. The paint now fully machine and hand detailed by me is deep and lustrous and smooth as silk. The underside of the car is also rust free and Florida clean, just the muffler having some surface rust spots, but no holes or issues. When I flip the lights on in my decorated garage, it's almost shocking at how beautiful the car is.
INTERIOR -
Like the exterior, the interior is in mint original, untouched condition. All surfaces reflect the extremely low miles and gentle use. Upholstery is clean, no staining or tears of any kind. Please note the driver's seat bottom appears to have a dark area. It's simply the shadow from the steering wheel from my overhead lights. Dash is crack-free and shows virtually no wear, carpet and mats also have the same level of preservation. All instruments and lights function properly. It is absolutely stunning! About the only fault I can find is the driver's side interior door handle is slightly bent downward and the plastic surround bezel has a crack.
FEATURES -
In 1991, the Accord came in 4 trim levels, the SE, EX, LX and the lowly DX with it black unpainted bumper covers. The SE featuredleather seats. The EX had this extremely durable cloth that from my experience has proven to wear extremely well, even on higher mile cars. Honda had figured out something American carcompanies could not, just look at cloth interiors from 90's American carstoday. They simply do not hold up as well. The EX also featured 5 more horsepower, alloy wheels, a power moonroof and a few other minor trim upgrades, all of which made for a nicer car comparedto the LX and DX.This one is loaded with all the bells and whistles offered at that time, ac, powerwindows, locks antenna, moonroof and mirrors, an AM-FM stereo/cassette, frontspeakers do not seem to work, cruise control, intermittentantwipers, tilt wheel, tach and more, all of which still work. About the only feature I don't love on this car, are the automatic seat belts, which work perfectly, but just not a great design to me. In '92, they went to a standard 3 point belt.
PERFORMANCE /DRIVABILITY -
With just 49,400 miles on the drivetrain, THAT'S AN AVERAGE OF 1969 MILES A YEAR, this Accord is barely broken in. These cars will easily top 250k and more with proper maintainance. While no race car, the 130 hp 2.2 4 cylinder engine moves this car along smartly with spirited acceleration, precise cornering and solid, sure-footed braking, boldly defying it's now official "antique" 25 year old status, all while delivering 30 mpg on the highway, low 20's around town. With such low miles, this car is TIGHT! No squeaks or rattles, no sloppy front end, just a truly enjoyable car to drive. The variable assisted Honda power steering, features one finger mobility when parallel parking, then adds resistance when speeds increase. The 4 speed overdrive auto trans features a dual range which adds a "Sport Mode" by depressing a button, illuminating a green "S" light on the dash. This delays the shifting points just slightly. It works well and must have been one of the earlier applications of what is today a commonplace feature. All in all, this car drives like it would have in 1991. It does not drive like a 2016 Honda. Nor is it priced like one. But to that end, it doesn't need to. It has a charm and personality that sterile new cars lack. Do I sound like I love this car? I do.
DOCUMENTATION -
As a car collector / enthusiast myself, one of the things I love most is loads of old receipts or orig dealer paperwork and a window sticker. Unfortunately, this car does not have much of that. Was it does have I have pictured, orig owner's manual with the orig owner's name and info in the orig dealer folder, warranty book, orig Bridgestone tire brochure from 1990, orig cruise control and shift-lock instruction cards, a AAA brochure from then, an oaring bottle of Honda touch up paint for this color and the old Florida title showing the second owner transaction to Good News Garage. I also have the signed Bill of Sale and current Registration, both signed by the previous legal owner as well as a detailed 4 page Carfax Report, with much more info than the one eBay provides with this auction. REGARDING TITLES, PLEASE NOTE, VERMONT DOES NOT ISSUE PAPER TITLES ON VEHICLES 15 YEARS OR OLDER. Nor does it collect the old titles on these older cars. BUT PLEASE DO NOT CONFUSE THIS WITH A CAR WITH A LOST OR NO TITLE. It is currently legally registered in the previous owner's name. He has issued me a Bill of Sale and given me the current Vermont Registration card in his name, both of which are signed and left blank for the new owner. A number of states register cars this way with no physical title. But again, the car is registered in Vermont and 100% legal. I have sold cars in the past to out of state buyers and it's never an issue. So the car will go direct from him to the new owner. You can check this with your local DMV.
FINAL THOUGHTS -
I truly love this car. In a very short time, I have transformed it from a wallflower to a prom queen. The car tugs at my heart and if I could keep it I would. But it needs a caring new owner that will enjoy and care for it to keep it looking beautiful for years to come. And with such low miles, it's sure to do it.
