1986 Military Humvee M998 Approved for Colorado On-Road Use (Hummer Army Truck)

This is an opportunity for the Colorado Resident and collector who wants to legally drive their US Military Humvee on Colorado roads and highways. This original configuration Military HMMWV vehicle has a valid State of Colorado Title and also valid Colorado State Form DR2365 for Highway Licensing and Emissions Approval, and this Military Humvee is currently Colorado Licensed and Insured and driving on-road. For example, if you are a Coloradoan who wants to own and drive a true Military (non-civilian) HMMWV on Colorado's beautiful scenic highways then you likely know what I am talking about. The State of Colorado has clamped down on Military Six Digit (all Non-17 Digit) Humvee VIN Numbers when it comes to on-road licensing approval FYI, so do your research.
Colorado rules for Military Humvee ownership have changed and many HMMWV models cannot be licensed in the State of Colorado for highway driving use. Military HMMWVs need State Approval. Therefore if you reside in Colorado and buy a six-digit VIN Military Humvee you might not be allowed to drive it on-road in Colorado which means you might have to trailer it everywhere you want to use it - what a headache! That is not the case with this HMMWV! I guarantee that this HMMWV can be licensed for on-road use in the State of Colorado.
This M998 Humvee has not been modified at all from its original US Military configuration. It is original.
This M998 Humvee is a 1986 former USMC US Military M998 HMMWV in a four-door soft top configuration with a brush guard. I have stored it indoors and just do not drive it enough, only putting about 20 miles on it per year. It is time for someone else who wants to take this into the great Colorado outdoors where it was designed to drive! Very good condition. Only 19,598 miles.
I have copies of chain of ownership documents from the US Military release form, to the second owner in Wyoming, to all my Colorado approval documents. This is a 2-owner vehicle since the vehicle's release from the Government.
For those people who do not know HMMWVs well here is a short list of this Military Humvee features:

• One of the best 4x4 drive trains and suspensions ever designed. All time 4WD with CV joint technology for smooth turning.
• High ground clearance.
• Heavy steel chassis.
• Mostly aluminum body (doesn't rust).
• No dents or corrosion to speak of.
• Strong running GM diesel engine. Recently passed Colorado Diesel Emissions Test running super clean.
• Block heater plug in for winter cold starts.
• Automatic transmission with Central Diff Lock.
• Standard military seating and lap seat belts for 4 persons. No tears or holes in upholstery.
• Good wiring (24 volt dual battery system. A 12volt system can be added easily for cellphones and such.)
• Pintle trailer hitch, heavy duty.
• Military tires.
• Strong heater and defrost but no A/C. Take the doors off in summer!!!
• Relatively new soft top with no leaks.
• Soft doors also near new.
• Good glass.
• Brush guard.
• Sound dampening kit is installed.
• This vehicle has not been abused and shows no collision or crash damage.
• This vehicle does not have a key ignition but one can be installed if you want. (It has standard military gauges and military lights and military start switch, etc. It is 24 volt!)
• Parts easy to acquire.
• Speedometer tops out at 60MPH.

This is also a great vehicle for any American-owned business that works outdoors, including the oil and gas drilling industry, oil exploration, oil services, police, sheriff or mountain rescue, forest and brush fire crews, ski-area maintenance, tour guides, or even for a rancher or farmer who needs something better to run and maintain fences or drive hay into pastures and fields or check on livestock. Also good for outdoor contractor, excavation company or builder working in muddy or rough road conditions. Even a movie production company can use this, because this is original and all US Military unmodified, so it is also great for the purist collector.
