This is a REAL HUMVEE purchased from the military. These extraordinary and iconic beasts have been out of production to civilians since 2006, making the popular truck very hard to come by. You can't miss one of these coming down the road!
The title on the truck says 1987, but it has gone through the routine military massive overhaul as late as 2010 where they replace all the parts with new parts. The parts look new under the truck. It has the MOW stamps showing it has gone through the overhaul process a couple of times.
This truck has all the parts, but is being sold as non-running. I'm not a mechanic but when I first got the truck it started (but struggled to turn over), and when it did it was blowing white smoke so I turned it off and left it alone. The truck has been sitting around A LOT!
This is a great project truck for somebody that knows mechanics or wants to figure it or has a good mechanic. The engines are 6.5L GM Diesel engines and everything on them is pretty simple easy to figure out by design (since they were meant to be repairable in the field). There is also a ton of step by step instructional material available online for free from military manuals.
The trucks are very customizable and everything on them are nuts and bolts so that they can be configured to different uses. All kinds of parts and customization kits are available online. Some extreme modifications include swapping to newer more powerful engines and they sell for a couple hundred grand.
I had to go through a long security background check and clearance from the State department when I bought it from the military, but buyer doesn't have to go through any of that now. It has a regular title and will be sold to the next buyer like any other truck.
