Description

This truck is a BEAST!
REBUILT 304 V8 (Came with a V8, not a transplant or incorrect installation) Most International Scouts came with the 4 cylinder engine, which the wise oldGranville King said was "about as useful as a moped." Not this one; original V8 power is here at the tip of your toe.Engine sounds super beefy with its loud exhaust, it revs up strong and idles after a brief warmup. The 304has a rebuilt Holley carburetor on it. Holley carbs came original on the 304 engines. Engine starts up pretty quick. Previous owner drove it at 65MPH on the highway. I have driven it around the shop while work was being done to it.
REBUILT AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSION WITH FLOOR SHIFT and a neat little chrome skull shift knob with red eyes! (came originally equipped with and automatic trans, option T39)
DANA 44 REAR AXLE HAS RECEIVED NEW BEARINGS AND SEALS. Rear differential originally equipped with a "Powr Lock" positractiondifferential. 3.73 Differential gearing
Optional DANA 30 FRONT AXLE with Warn locking hubs. The other 800 and 80 Scouts came with the Dana 27 without a V8.
DANA 20 TRANSFER CASE, which is a part time 4x4 transfer case, with high and low ranges.
SUSPENSION LIFT WITH COILOVER SHOCKS, Approximately 4.5" lift
DROPPED PITMAN ARMHEAVY DUTY TIE ROD AND DRAG LINK
BRAND NEW 33X12.50X15" OFF ROAD MUD TIRES WITH UNDER 5 MILES ON THEM; DIRECTIONAL TREAD, NITROGEN FILLED
NEW 15X10 POLISHED ALUMINUM MAG WHEELS, WITH NEW CAPS, LUG NUTS, AND VALVE STEMS.
ROLL BAR
CUSTOM FRONT AND REAR TUBE BUMPERS
CENTRAL FUEL CELL MOUNTED BELOW BED
HARDTOP INCLUDED. TOP IS FULL LENGTH STEEL TOP.
NEW DOOR HINGES. New paint on doors, inside and door jambs of doors. Doors open and close easily. Hood unlatches and closes tight. Lower quarter panels appear to be original steel, which is a goodthing, as most have rusted out there. The prior owner patched the floors, along with one support replaced in front left floor.
NEW CUSTOM PAINTED MAROON ACCENTS, In DuPont catalyzed single stage paint with a really cool looking scuff resistant satin black coating for easy maintenance. A good balance of the "Brute" look with some colorto give it a modern look. 0 miles on the new maroon paint.
NEW FRONT BUCKET SEAT UPHOLSTERY in maroon, with black piping to match exterior. 0 miles on new upholstery.NEW DOOR PANELS
ORIGINAL STEERING WHEEL
GLOVE BOX DOOR PAINTED TO MATCH, with original stickers still on inside of glove box door
The 800B model was the last of the first generation Scouts. The first generation Scouts ran from 1960 to 1971. The 800B modelwas only in production for the first half of 1971. The 800B is very rare and sought after because of the low production time in 1971.
Something that makes this 800B a little more rare is the fact that it came from the factory as a "Doll Up" edition; as notedon the LST or Line Setting Ticket. (see photo)
The VIN plate on the left door in the door jamb has matching VIN with the stamped VIN on the left side of the front frame rail. Both numbers match the numberon the title.
IT IS A HISTORICAL FACT THAT THE INTERNATIONAL SCOUTS WERE THE FIRST AMERICAN SUV AND THE PRIMARY INSPIRATION BEHIND THE 1966 TO1977 FORD BRONCOS.
I have the door window glass, vent windows, and window regulators if you want them.
