I'm getting old, and as such, getting in and out of this vehicle is becoming very difficult due to an old neck injury.. So I'm reluctantly puttingthis beloved Scout up for sale.
This is a 1980 Scout that came off the assembly line as a Turbo Diesel, and has now been transformed into a beautiful SSII (clone). For you non scout aficionados, International never made a SSII in 1980, hence the SSIIclonedesignation. I’ve owned 2 original SSIIs throughout the years but I wanted to have one that wasn’t original so I wouldn’t be accused of “destroying” a true SSII by modifying it. What you see in the pictures is the final results. The only original pieces from the 1980 vehicle are the frame and bare axle housings along with the transmission and transfer casehousings!!
After the frame and drivetrain component housings were sandblasted, epoxy primed and coated with Por-15, the transformation began. A complete fiberglass body, fenders, & hood were added next. The plan was to change this vehicle from a boring, stinky, s-l-o-w running diesel, into a kick-ass 4x4 street and dune runner SSII that could still be a DAILY driver

This Scout went to the 2014, 2015 & 2016 Scout Nationals and won 1stplace in the “Scout Street/Wild-Modified” class all three years….. It's been on the road since June of 2014 and the odometer just turned over to 2,000 miles. This year alone, I put less than 250 miles on it. Sad....
Does this SSII need anything? Well, yes, a few minor things. I haven’t mounted an E-Brake yet, and the horn isn't hooked up..
As an added bonus, if you buy it for 29,750.00 or more, I will deliver within a 500 radius of Fremont, OH for free. Vehicle must be paid in full before delivery..
Please call if you have any questions..(4196803668) Also have many more pictures.
I reserve the right to end this auction early as this vehicle is also for sale locally.
