Description

THE SITE WILL NOT LET YOU SAY ANYTHING BAD ABOUT PREVIOUS BUYERS WHO ARE NO GOOD OR DO NOT PAY...LETS JUST SAY THERE WAS A BUYER WHO- WAS NO GOOD AND DID NOT PAY...AND THERE'S NO PENALTY FOR THAT UNFORTUNATELY...
1960 International Harvester Metro van, One of the best originals in the world.Short wheelbase with Flat backFrame on restoration all except for interior (so that it may be customized to preference) This van was driven back from Oregon to Texas BEFORE going into 50k + in restoration-- so she's extremely reliable.Starts every time, stops perfect with all new brakes, lines and cylinders. Runs at perfect temp, doesn't leak, tempted to say it doesn't drip because it does not as far as I know, but I'm going to hold that back as any old vehicle like this should be expected to drip once in a while--All new painless wiring harness, gages, lights, glass, rubber, carburetor, fuel lines.. list could go on.Any and all rust was cut out and fabricated new-- was done no spare in expense to take on many years of Texas heat. Thick expensive Primer and paint- cream and gray with red stripe and red rims with original dog dish caps.Steering wheel is wrapped in Brooks leather, all light and wipers operating. New high end locking door handles, 12 volt upgrade with outlets inside and alternator. Custom leather reupholstered seat (original folding seat). New cargo Floor. Towing package with connections.Only a few hundred miles on it since restoration (498) which included plenty of engine work, all seals, wires, etcI have over 70k in this van and she's a beauty-- Since I've had my first child priorities have hanged-- plus I have several other toys and it's time for a few to go.There has never been a Metro restored to this level on eBay as far as I know- there have been resto mods etc, but none done original to this level.Serious Buyers only, welcome to come see it in Austin Texas. I'll even take you for a ride!Willing to take a 20k + hit on it - so indeed my loss will be your gain. Its not just the $ you will save- you'll instantly have one of the nicest Metros in the world. It took 2 years to get this one restored...I've had 11 metro vans, there are all types to get, rarely are they restored correctly and more often than not people purchase one thinking they can restore it and save money, only to find out it costs a ton to work on (the right way) and it can take very long time to get worked on. I can answer any questions you have.50k is an amount I never considered taking before but I understand thats how it goes in this game; however this is the lowest I will take so please no offers, thank you. Ive taken her this far and its time for her to find a new caring home.Clean TX title in my name in hand.Buyer responsible for shipping, or is welcome to pick up and drive it home like I did. Best. Trip. Ever.Thank you for looking. 500 immediate non refundable deposit via PayPal (sorry just too many people playing games out there), the rest in cash, wire or cashiers check. Non refundable, no returns, sold as-is (which is an antique vehicle). Please read carefully before bidding and feel free to ask any questions now.THANK YOU.
UPDATE: Hello guys- for those that have been contacting me about van and are seriously interested and know the value -thank you for asking. I wanted to answer a few more common questions. The van runs perfect, it always ran really welland in restoration they did basically everything that could be done without removing the engine from the chassis - so it has all new gaskets, lines, fluids, an so on. clutch is perfect. shifts perfect. Extremely reliable daily driver- I even spoke with one interested party and said she could be confident to drive this across country- just like i did once before restoration.suspension is perfect.ask tank was removed, cleaned inside and out, new gas lines and ibelieve two fuel filters. custom reverse lights, hazards. all new headlights and assemblies. led lights in rear.the interior is just the bare walls, no inner walls- this was left unfinished on purpose for flexibility, just depends what I (or the buyer) would want to do with the van. because its all bare-- nothing is hidden, you can see there are no dents or filled spots etc. all glass and rubber was custom.I can providereceipt for the majority of the expenses sans things like, media blasting, battery, small things but im not certain the exact amount (sounds strange but i tried to put that out of my mind as it was building and build andbuilding up :-0 )NO CHEATS on this build- it's not perfect or 100% finished (interior) but the work that was done was done for the long long haul.i was askedwhy i have not put up for auction: honest answer- id have to complete the inside for top $ and ship it out- Id just rathertakethe very fair price im asking now- in my opinion its priced to sell but i understand somepeopleget sticker shock not knowing what it costs to work on these.however, the last, and only metro, ive ever known to go up for auction went for 79k and that was several years agoThank you!
UPDATE#2 : last night on American Pickers a beater rusted metro that Aerosmith used to own was bought by the guys for 25k... ;-)
UPDATE#3 : THE LAST THREE PICTURES ARE OF ANOTHER VAN-- NOT THE ONE HERE FOR SALE. That van is also for sale first w/ 12k cash takes it. its been blasted and primed so again, nothing hidden behind thick painttocomback and bite you. It ran fine 1.5 years ago, engine turning easy now but needs new coil ordistributor, wants to start but is not. you can contact me directly all one word : coldqueso 'at' hot mail 'dot' 'com'
