1966 International Harvester 1100A Custom Pickup Truck
I am selling my original 1966 IH 1100A Custom pickup truck. This pickup is titled as a 1967. I was told that when it was built in 1966 it stayed for sale at the dealer until 1967 and back then your title went by the year of purchase. This makes sense since they changed thegrill and a few other items on the truck for the new 1967 year model.
As the story goes, it was originally bought in Florida and the original owner owned a mattress factory. He used the truck to make mattress deliveries in and around Ellenton, FL. I cannot verify this story, but it was told to me by the previous owner.
The truck has a 4.3 liter 266 cubic inch small block V8 original to the truck with 66277 miles registering on the odometer at the time of auction. The truck runs strong. When I boughtthe truckin Albertville, Alabama I drove it 115 miles to my home in Montevallo, Alabama. It did fine on the interstate (to my delight) running at 70 mph without any issues. I keep it in my garage as did the previous owner. The engine does not have any leaks. I did notice some clear fluid under the rear axle in my garage recently. I had this repaired (axle seal) this past week. This was completed by Impatient Creations in Alabaster, AL. They are very thorough with their work and did an outstanding job. I wanted this done right and paid top dollar ($1340.11) for it to be taken care of. I will include this repair paperwork in the sale of the truck.
The truck has one repaint of green with a white top that was done in the early 1990's. It shows well from 10 feet away, but could use a refreshing. The interior is a very pleasing cream/camel color that works well with the green exterior. The operating radio is 8 track and still works (although it plays the 8-track tapes a little slow).
I love this truck. I bought it because it was different and thereweren't a lot of them out there anymore. Its totally reliable and although I haven't driven it a bunch it always gets folks rubbernecking at it when I drive it down the road. People have stopped me even to take pictures of it or to tell me how their grandfather had one back in the day. I don't want to sell, but my new house has to have a fence in the backyard for my dogs.
Paypal is preferred, but certified check or money order will work. A check will have to clear my bank before the transfer of the title. 20 percent or $2000.00is due at the time of the end ofauction. Total transaction must be planned or completed within 48 hours of the end of auction. Please bid accordingly. I have set a modest reserve for the auction. Happy Bidding!
