Description

I recently finished up a 2 year restoration on a highly-optioned lifelong Southern Oregon Scout. What does that mean? We use no salt on our roads here and we get very little rain. It was repainted its original Glacier Blue with an all new interior including new fabric (which matches the original) on the front and back of seats and new carpet. It is 4wd and is powered by the 345ci V8 paired with an automatic transmission.
Restoration included a top-off professional repaint, new vinyl side decals (matching the originals), reupholstered seats, new carpets, A/C was converted to R134a, new windshield, new weatherstripping for front and rear glass, all doors, and tailgate, new wheels, and a new headliner (plus dynamat insulation everywhere). The carburetor and distributor were rebuilt and a new fuel pump, alternator, battery, plugs, and valve cover gaskets were installed along with a replacement dual exhaust system with glasspacks. The gas tank was removed and coated. I also replaced the shocks and installed a fresh transmission with new torque converter.
It runs and drives great. The steering is very tight. The transmission shifts perfectly. It does not drip any oil and does not run hot. The heat and AC work as they should. It is a Scout and is not a 2016 Lexus. Could you get in it and drive it to Kansas? Sure! Would it breakdown somewhere? Mostly likely. It is a 40-year old scout. If it was 1980 and a 3-year old Scout--it would most likely break down somewhere.
I have the original window sticker, factory literature, and a clean Oregon title. It gets a thumbs up everywhere I go in it. I have lots of more information, videos, and pictures. If you want to see something let me know.
Shipping anywhere in the US is extremely easy and I can arrange that at your cost. From Oregon to the east coast will be around $1200. This Scout is sold as-is, where-is with no warranties expressed or implied.
