Description

You are bidding on a very cool 1956 International Harvester SC-160 "cab over engine" truck in very good "original survivor" condition. This truck lived its life since new on a farm in Kansas until last year when I brought it.Only 52,634 original miles on her-Here are the details:

This truck was originally used as a grain truck on a farm in Kansas, and I had the seller remove the grain box before I had it shipped to cut down on the transport expense, and I really had no use for it.Yes it has a few dings, dents, scuffs & scratches, but the great thing is that it is solid with no rust, rot through,or patches. The sheet metal is solid,as is the floor, with lots of great "patina" throughout. There are some dents in the roof panel(see pics),but you can't see them from ground level. This truck could be scuffed & cleared easily with minimal prep work. The last pic shows the truck when I got it,and it shows the front bumper on the truck.I do have it,and took it off to weld up some cracks & straighten it out.It will go with the truck.

The truck ran a little rough when I took delivery, and brakes were pretty much non-existent.Heres what I have done since:

Rebuilt the carb, and drained the fuel tank.Tank is clean inside with no issues.Drained the anti-freeze from the radiator(its solid),and the block, and refilled with fresh.Drained the motor oil,and changed the oil filter, along with fresh motor oil.Spark plugs were changed, and a fresh battery installed. She fires right up now either hot or cold, and idles smoothly with no smoke or other issues. These straight six IH motors run forever, and are so easy to work on.The transmission is a 4 speed manual, with an electric 2-speed rear end, which works well with no problems.

The main culprit with the braking system was a worn out master cylinder which I replaced.I also replaced all the rubber brake line hoses, brake light switch, and all of the metal lines are solid.None of the wheel cylinders were or have since leaked, and the system was bled. The brakes work well now,and it also has a booster cylinder which aids in braking when the motor is running.

Since the rear tail lights & turn signals were originally on the grain bed,I had to replace & rewire them and they are now fully functional,as are the brake lights.Front turn signal, headlights & cab marker lights all work.Windshield wipers work, and blades are new replacements. There is a Stewart -Warner temp gauge installed on the dash,as the original is not functioning.Never looked into it.Horn works,as does the heater.

I replaced the following seals on the truck, and all doors/hood close tightly.New inner full door seals, outer door seals, window seals & felts, along with hood to cab seal.New headliner installed,as well as kick panels,as well as a new glove box insert. Also put a new heat-resistant seal on the "dog house" covering the motor. The floor was carpeted when I got it,and I pulled all of it out,and the floor is solid with no rust or rot.I also have a new rear window seal for the truck,as I was going to replace the rear window which has a few cracks(but no holes),but never got around to it.

Tires appear to be fairly new,as they have plenty of tread on them, with no dry rotting or sidewall issues. They hold air with no leaking issues,as I have not had to reinflate any of them in the year I have had it.

Overall,a really cool COE,which is ready to be taken to the next level as either a full restoration, car hauler, rat rod,or just drive her around as is.Really a fun truck that turns heads wherever you go!These are getting so hard to find in up & running condition with no rot issues!Clear PA. title in my name.
