Description

If you like playing with serious toys off road, but want to show up with something a little bit different, then take a look at this International Scout II. They won a series of races in the late 70s like the Baja 1000, finishing almost two hours ahead of a CJ7, and were winning races like the Score off road events in Riverside California. Check it out. This one has recently received a beautiful new Black basecoat/clearcoat paint job. The body lines and panel gaps all look straight and good and while it would be a shame to scratch it, it really looks ready for action. Up front, a power bulge hood looks good and hints at the V8 power lurking below it. A body colored grill of vertical lines sits between the headlights and is underlined by a simple black bumper. Out back, a beefy looking tailgate has International emblazoned on it in orange with dual exhaust pipes peeking out from under another simple bumper. Bestop has got you covered on this 4x4 with a nice-looking system that extends all the way to the tailgate providing for good inside storage. There is an International Harvester badge on the front fenders and a step up for the cab because this Scout sits on up there on 32X11.50s and Centerline wheels. Open the door and you will find an interior set up for doing some serious off-road business. There is a rollover hoop if your world turns upside down while you are out playing and a diagonal bar cuts down from the roll over hoop to the front footwell to protect the driver and passenger from side impacts. Racing seats are set up with G-Force racing harnesses to keep you in place and in control. There is an Autometer Sport Comp tack with shift light and well as Autometer gauges to keep accurate tabs on water temp and oil pressure, all mounted where the driver can see them in the heat of battle. The shifter for the manual transmission as well as the gearshift for the 4WD transfer case are in the center within easy reach. There is a simple bench in the back for riding people down to the bon fire after the race with plenty of room for coolers. Pop the forward tilting hood up and you will find the 345 cubic inch V8 motor that powers this little Scout setting down in the engine bay. It draws fresh air in through a triangular shaped filter and feeds it to a Weber 4-barrel carburetor then down through stock intake and heads that make plenty of low-end torque. Mallory handles the ignition system with a model 205 coil and long tube headers get the spent gasses out and headed back through a dual exhaust system. A Champion brand aluminum radiator assures that temperatures will stay under control even under pressure. A fresh set of leaf springs both front and rear are ready for action and mount solid axles with Superwinch lockers for maximum traction when the going gets tough. It all sits up on those 32X11.50 Goodyear Wrangler AT/S tires mounted on Centerline wheels. A serious off-road toy that you don't see every day. Come on down and check it out.
