International Scout II 1979
Description
In my opinion, this Scout is in great shape for being 37 years old. Below is a list of all that I could think of to say about it, but please ask questions.
General Information:
- Daily driver until November 2001
- Garaged from 2001 until 2014
- Not currently licensed
- Have owned it since 1995 and been in Nevada
Exterior and mechanical:
- Very little rust on the frame, floor boards, body, etc.
- All glass is in good shape
- Rear windows open, however, handles will need new fasteners
- Drivers door inside handle does not work, will need new plastic clips
- Driver and passenger door windows roll up and down smoothly
- Rear hatch opens/closes and locks
- Paint is chipped
- Engine oil and filter are new
- Engine starts and runs smoothly
- 345 Engine is from a 1974 Scout II Traveler – unsure how many miles on it, but does not burn oil
- Smog equipment has been removed
- New starter, fuel pump, spark plugs and wires, transmission shift cable, gas pick-up and sending unit
- Rebuilt, two-barrel Holly carburetor (not original)
- Transmission shifts through all gears
- Hubs lock and four-wheel drive works great
- Transfer case shifts through all ranges
- Tires about 50%
- Gas tank was cleaned out in 2015
- Power steering gear box leaks
- Power brakes work and do not leak fluid
Interior:
- Lap seat belts
- Upholstery in fair condition
- Needs a new voltage regulator for the instrument panel
- Needs a new boot for the transmission shift lever
- Center console plastic is broken
- Needs new weather stripping
It is up to the buyer to do their due diligence prior to purchasing this Scout. It will not take much work to make it a daily driver again, however, I would not recommend the buyer drive the vehicle home in its current condition. It is up to the buyer to pick up the Scout which is located in Reno, Nevada. The seller will not deliver.
Buyer must arrange for pick up within two weeks of winning the auction.
