1993 Jaguar XJS convertible sports car
Description
Make your summer splendid! This is a lovely, spotless, two-seater, convertible sports car with only 30,000 original miles on it! You know how people look all their lives for that classic that has been driven only by an old lady, a few miles a week? Well this was my mom's car; she recently passed away at 93 and left it to me. It has been garaged its whole life until it got to me a month ago, and I have it carefully covered in my drive. It is ivory, with a tan convertible top, and perfect condition all leather tan interior--burlwood on the dash and console. Air conditioning, electric up and down for the convertible top that works like a peach! There is a never used perfect convertible cover for when the top is down so it looks sleek and there are brand new Jaguar matching carpet mats (with logo) to put inside when you buy it. (She bought an extra set!) Also has a good quality, multi-layer car cover that goes with it. Under the hood and the trunk are literally spotless and the leather interior is perfect. She never had any issues with the car. Car also has complete original manual and has been meticulously mechanically maintained. The inside is like a new car!
Engine is peppy and car is fun to drive--does not feel like an older car, nice and tight. I am selling only because I have a 1961 MGA already that is my baby, and no garage at my home in Yonkers, NY. I do not want this car to winter outside! If you know Jaguars you know that the 6 cylinder XJS is a more reliable car than the 12 cylinder, and still has plenty of get up and go.
Here are the ONLY things wrong: there is a tiny dent the size of a pea on the driver's side door--paint is intact. The cloth on the INSIDE of the convertible has lost a little of its elasticity so it sags a tiny bit (see photo). The defrost blower on the driver's side stays on all the time so I pulled the fuse for it (you can put it back at any time). I have driven in a downpour and used the defroster without this fuse and it worked fine. The automatic locking device sometimes works and sometimes not. And at some point mom got a small dent on the lower panel behind the door on the driver's side. It was completely repaired, but if you look really closely the paint match is not perfect. I did not notice this until a dealer pointed it out to me. I tried to photograph this, but could not even get it to show on camera in bright sun, so I do not think you will mind.
This is a wonderful car for styling on weekends and impressing either the girls or the boys! Or even your long wedded spouse! I am not trying to make a mint on this so I have priced it for quick sale. Hemmings has similar listings for 13,000+, as does ebay. I still have to receive the new title from the DMV in NY, as I just changed the title to my name, but am putting it up for auction now so you can get a chance to bid on this wonderful car.
Please do email me with any questions. I appreciate payment by cash or certified bank check if you win the auction. Good luck!
