1964 Jaguar S-Type 3.8S Mark 2 Mk2

Description

Up for auction is a barn fresh 1964 Jaguar MkII 3.8S. This particular car was owned by a Jaguar nut that once had 26 Jaguars! The owner past away 10+ years ago and everything went into a family trust. Most of the good cars were sold off except for the 4 door “orphan” sedans. The family was going to have them crushed and I made an offer to buy all 14 of them, haul them to my shop, loosely assemble them and sparkle them up. My intentions are to sell them as-is and not restore them unless someone wants it restored and I can do that at my shop www.catzauto.com. This particular car was purchased in 1980, bumpers were removed to be re-chromed 30+ years ago (I wonder if they are done yet!) and stored in a dry quonset hut barn since 1982 and never moved since then. The doors, frame, fenders, hood, boot are solid, as shown along with all the other sheet metal parts and everything fits very nicely. The boot lid sits high on the left side because it will not latch on that side. Pushed down the boot lid aligns perfectly with the body. The engine seems all intact and turned over by hand but I did not try and start it. The air cleaner is missing. The oil inside was clean with no water and there was antifreeze in the block lower section so I do not think the block is cracked from freezing. The radiator is missing but those can be purchased new along with the bumpers. The wood is salvageable and can be refinished as-is and there are extra parts in the boot if needed. The automatic transmission has cruise control! The interior could use some leather conditioner (LOL) but is 100% complete and even has the original Jaguar radio. This is a very straight, salvageable, unmolested Jaguar S-Type with the very desirable 3.8 engine that does not deserve to be crushed. It is not too often that I find cars that haven’t been parted out or rusted away. It will make a nice project for someone as- is and being auctioned at no reserve. This car comes with a NY registration and will be sold with a bill of sale from a registered dealer’s license from Ohio. This car has no warranty and no returns.
