The 356th Jaguar Mark I chassis produced in 1958. Rare 3.4 litre larger engine used in Jaguar race cars. Unitary Construction of Body and Chassis. Independent front suspension featuring double wishbones, coil springs, telescopic dampers, and an anti-roll bar, all carried in a separate subframe mounted to the body.
Engine is Jaguar XK6 dual overhead camshaft (DOHC) inline 6-cylinder engine which was introduced by Jaguar Cars in 1949 and manufactured through 1992. It was produced and made by Jaguar and privateers for racing. In contrast with contemporary BMW and Mercedes engines, the original XK engine was relatively unstressed and produced high torque thanks to its more advanced valve and head configuration. "B type" cylinder head is identified by serial number and is present, painted fainted light blue. Original matching numbers engine is highly desirable, included with car, but needs full restoration and is semi-complete.
