Description
PLEASE NOTE: After a week of back and forth, the previous auction winner was unable to complete the transaction. Unless you are able to send a wire transfer or pay via PayPal (and cover the fees), please do NOT bid! Also, do not bid assuming that I will meet you halfway or deliver the car to you. I expect the winner to collect the car or arrange for shipping. If you would like to discuss other arrangements or to have me store the car for a little while, please contact me before you place a bid. Thank you.
For sale is this very rare Canadian-market Series III V12 Vanden Plas. It has a 5.3L V12 engine and a very smooth-shifting GM 400 3-speed automatic transmission. Current mileage is approximately 260,100 kms or approximately 161,500 miles. The exterior colour is Crimson Red metallic and the interior trim colour is Doeskin. The vehicle comes with a Jaguar Daimler Heritage Trust Certificate.
I acquired this car approximately one year ago when it had 257,840 kms. The previous long-term owner had it since November 2001 when the vehicle had 126,500 kms.
The car runs very well and I have been driving it sparingly but regularly. I have 3 other vehicles, including another Series III V12 Vanden Plas, hence the infrequent use of this car. Maintenance and repairs carried out during my ownership include the replacement of intake manifolds. bushings, hoses, clamps, spark plugs, air filters, rear trailing arm, front shocks and springs, right lower ball joint and steering rack boot. Also, the oil was changed and the rear suspension lubricated.
The previous owner had extensive and expensive maintenance carried out during his long-term ownership, as he used the car as his daily driver for a number of years. I have a binder full of receipts that will go with the car, as well as the owner's manual. Some of the other more recent work done include the replacement of the water sensor, heater control valve, starter motor, rear brake pads and fan clutch. Comprehensive maintenance and repairs were carried out in respect of various components of the car in January 2014 at a cost of $8,500. Another major service in September 2013 came to $4,600. The transmission and fuel pump were replaced and the a/c compressor rebuilt at 223,000 kms.
The car was repainted in November 2014 at a cost of over $10,000. This was done purely for aesthetic reasons; at the same time, the Canadian-spec door guards and side marker lights were removed and the front side markers were replaced with slim European-spec ones. As far as the interior goes, the front leather cushions and backrest covers were replaced in May 2014, along with two rear door panels and the rear seat back panel and foam. The headliner and carpets are also new. The wheels have been refinished and are flawless, as is the exterior with no dings, scratches or paint fading. There is no rust. The interior presents as new with the exception of cracked wood veneer on the dash and centre console.
Power windows, locks, mirrors, seat height adjustment (the rest of the seat adjustments are manual) and sunroof are all operational. The radio works but the antenna goes up and down only an inch.

This Jag has been lovingly maintained its entire life, which shows. It is very easy to import the vehicle to the US, as it is over 25 years old and therefore exempt from DOT and EPA rules. As noted above, please do not bid unless you are serious about purchasing the vehicle and have already looked into shipping. I reserve the right to end the auction early if the vehicle sells locally. Thanks for your interest.
