Description

Offered for sale, from KURT TANNER MOTORCARS, is this low mileage Jaguar MK 2 Sedan. This car was just purchased from it's long term family owner from the Pacific Northwest. It was purchased by them from a close friend who was the original owner. They have known of this car since it was new. The car has been stored in their garage for the past 25 years after the original clutch started slipping at the last recorded mileage. Life got busy with children so the repairs got put on hold. The body on this car is extremely nice. At first glance, the paint looks original but it's possible it's had one thin early respray to some portions of the car. The paint is clearly older with a nice satin sheen to it, along with some usual gentle dings and chips from use. There is some very minor corrosion on the LH lower fender and some minor bubbling on the driver's door. Chromework/glass is largely excellent and 100% original to the car. Rubber around all of the glass and doors is quite nice too.The car's interior is quite nicely preserved and original showing it's genuine leather seats, front carpets, headliner, nice woodwork, beautiful chrome and glass, etc.- all in lovely overall condition, being a huge cost saved on a restoration car. It has been carefully cleaned but still retains that wonderful Jaguar aroma...Mechanically, the car's original 3.8 Liter engine was running fine with no issues when parked, according to the selling family. The engine today turns nicely by hand. The car's clutch needs replacing, as that's why it was parked years ago. I'm sure the brakes and fuel systems would need a general recommissioning/service after all of this time. The car's underside is completely solid and beautifully rustfree, as one would expect from a car of this mileage and past care. The car still retains it's original jack, tire changing equipment, spare wheel, and full tool kit in the correct wooden round box.Overall, an exciting, fantastically well-preserved original car with low miles, ready to be returned to the road after some mechanical sorting.
