Description

No Reserve Auction, I've been holding on for too long! Up for sale is my 1965 Jaguar 3.8S, like the MkII but with disc brakes and independent rear suspension.
Video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7MXywNY_6_E&t=3s
The Good:
Starts, runs, goes into gear and shifts.
Interior is complete, mostly original as far as I can tell, except the front bench seat was reupholstered in vinyl.
Title in hand, no fees due (she was registered up until this year, now is Planned Non-Operational which means she can be registered at anytime without back fees at the CA DMV - comes with original yellow on black plates)
The Bad:
The brakes are weak (2 years ago, when I was driving her around weekly, the brakes worked fine...nothing special has happened since, so this is likely a gasket/hose deterioration).
The battery drains over a couple days (these is a parasitic load somewhere (relay?). I "solved" this by just unhooking the battery when parked.
Power steering leaks. If you fill it up, power steering pump works.
Paint needs work, a few dents here and there, and some body rust.Speedometer/Odometer does not work, mileage is inaccurate.
I haven't found the time to invest in this over the years, and it doesn't look like I will
This is a great project for someone who wants to have a cool car, learn some stuff while fixing her up, and still be able to enjoy it on the weekends.
Car can be viewed before purchase in San Francisco, contact me to setup a time. Due to the current condition, she should not be driven home without at least addressing the brakes, perhaps the power steering (though I drove without dealing with the leaking power steering for a few years). I will help load onto a trailer or dolly if you're towing home, or help a tow truck with whatever they need if you're going to tow it to a shop nearby. There is plenty of loading zone for a flatbed or whatever you decide upon, but the car is sold as is where is. Deposit of $100 via paypal is due within 48 hours of auction close, and final payment and pickup is due within 7 days.
