1966 Jeep Wagoneer Base 5.3L
Description
This is a good Jeep, quite well preserved. Has the original 327 and AT. Engine is GOOD, it runs nicely, no smoke and no blow by from the engine. I took the top end of the engine apart and installed new gaskets and painted everything fairly meticulously, rebuilt AFB carb. Fuel tank was removed and re-lined, fuel system is clear, might want to reinforce the weld that hold it up though. Cooling system/radiator is good with NO leaks, exhaust appears to have no leaks either? Cracked windshield.... big old glass packs exiting from the side, sounds great! Steering pump is quiet, steering does not seem to be overly loose, trans and 4x4 working feels solid, though I haven't driving it at hwy speeds due to inop brakes. This rig has spent it's life in Eastern Washington which is a desert... so It has mostly surface rust with the exception of the the rear quarter panels which trap water and mud so that's the only rot and they need to be replaced. Rest of the of the body is solid, floor pans and frame good. Interior not bad at all, see the pics. All in all this is very solid base for really easy resto/refurb of a true classic (and classy) jeep. Will need to be trailered due to brakes at the moment, though it does have a new master cylinder... it's likely just the slave cyls, brake lines are not rusty... thanks.
