Description

This is a 1968 to 1970 DJ-5A civilian JEEP. It is NOT A POSTAL JEEP!It has a Chev Nova 153 cu.in. (2.5L) engine. A two-speed power-glide automatic transmission and a standard CJ front end-----all original. The way you see it is exactly the same way I received it. The steering wheel, as you can see in the photos, is on the 'left side'. From my research, these were made by Kaiser Corp from 1968-1970. They also were made in very small numbers and that's why you see so few. 1968---521 made. 1969----386 made. 1970----254 made. The reason I don't know exactly what year this is, is because I acquired this without a title. If you need a title, I can offer advice and assistance.
Some more facts: 2WD; Spicer model 44 rear axle, "I" beam front axle; Front parking lamps are mounted in the grille below the headlamps, only made 1968, 1969 and early 1970; 4 cylinder Chevrolet: Chevy II, Nova; overhead valve motor; General Motors, 2-speed Power-Glide automatic transmission; front end style similar to the civilian "round fender" CJ-5, CJ-6.This has 14" wheel on 5 lug X 5-1/2" BHCD Jeep hub pattern. I believe its 10" brakes.
It is missing the two front fenders; no rear lift gate (rear door swing open), and the passenger sliding door. Also air filter/cover as well as other items. Exactly as I received it. I have taken no parts off this since I've owned it--now way over 20-25+ years.
The front end appears straight as is the bumper; 4 wheels; back bumper is fine; all steering/linkage ok. Frame looks fine. The floor shifter is original and I believe the seats as well---someone emailed about the seats. The knobs and steering wheel are believed to be original as well. (We made up a way to lock the shifter so someone couldn't take it. If I can find that piece I'll throw it in.
Please look at the photos as they definitely are part of the description. The rust on the floor is common as the bottom of the windshield frame. Years ago we put on a new fuel pump and gas cap. About 5 years ago, when I was moving, we put a battery in it and a 1 gallon jug of gas and I drove it around my lot using the parking brake to stop. I haven't tried it recently so I can't answer whether or not it runs, but I'll guess it will.
I'm selling it whole for PARTS/REPAIR OR RESTORE--your choice. AS SEEN/AS SHOWN with no title, bill of sale. I made a list of the main big parts and was conservative with my estimates and figure if you part it, its worth easily over $1500.00.I just have too many Jeeps and projects, and have to be realistic in what I want/wish to finish and keep in/for my personal collection. Its time for someone else to enjoyed it. I would be really pleased if someone wanted to refurbish or restore it.
I was using it to store some 'extra parts'-- since it has a hard top on it. Any part that is shown 'laying' around in any photo---is NOT INCLUDED in this auction.I have seen people cut the top off and make it into a CJ5 type JEEP. Vehicle will need to be towed. If you need help with delivery, I know several tow companies, but if your far away, you're better off renting a truck and traile, or if you have a truck- rent a trailer from U-Haul and come get it yourself.
