This JEEP CJ-7 is the perfect combination of good looks and reliability that is getting harder and harder to find these days. Restored just a few years ago in North Florida, this machine has an estimated 3,500 miles since completion, with only 250 miles on the BRAN D NEW WHEELS AND TIRES that were put on a few months ago. Unfortunately, life changes forced the sale of the CJ, and it is now being offered for sale after having been serviced and safety checked for the new owners. 1982 JEEP CJ-7 FOR SALE - YouTube Video will open in a new window [isdntekvideo] THIS JEEP HAS NOT BEEN FORMALLY DETAILED, AND YOU ARE SEEING IT AFTER IT WAS WIPED DOWN WITH QUICK SHINE SPRAY AND VACUUMED. Imagine how nice it will look when you get it home and take the time to clean it from front to back! The body is original, real JEEP steel, and it is in exceptionally good condition all the way around. There are no patched panels, no rust spots, no beer cans or chicken wire, and no bondo panels on it. Take a 4” square felt-covered magnet to it, and it will stick like glue to every single painted surface on the JEEP. The paint is beautiful JEEP Deep Night Blue done in Glasurit AMC-517 and it shows wonderfully all the way around! The finish is still shiny, deep and wet looking, and having been driven just about 3,500 miles since restoration, only shows a handful or so truly minor little dings, stone chips, and tiny blemishes to be found. I have taken 125 photos of the JEEP below, and you can see that NOTHING is bad enough to really even show in photos, but if you are combing it over, you will find a mark or two. Fender flares are not steel, but are seamlessly integrated into the body, and painted to match so they look perfect on the JEEP. Cowl intake vent cover, windshield hinges, door hinges, tail gate hinges, rocker trim, headlight and marker light trim, and tail light guards are either chrome plated or polished to perfection and show wonderfully. Custom-ordered bumpers are mean looking, hug the body closely, and look fantastic on the JEEP. Front unit has dual hooks for pulling out your friends, a medium pushbar, and super-bright LED light bar to light your way. Rear unit has towing hooks to get your friends home, and an integrated box hitch with cover. Tail gate has single allen key bolts for the latches, and open s and closes easily. Spare tire mount tab is still on the body, as is the polished bumper stop, but the spare and carrier unit are NOT included. Rocker trim was added so the snaps can be used for installation of the center cab vinyl cover that is included in the sale. Steel tube side doors look very nice on the JEEP, and use factory latches to close tightly. They give you that full open door feeling without worrying about your passenger, or yourself, falling out. A perforated bimini top keeps most of the sun of your interior and you, without separating you from that whole open-air JEEP experience! Windshield is in clean, clear, and damage free condition, and easily tilts forward and back if you need it to. Tubular step bars are painted to match, and work great too! All of the exterior lights work as they should, and the wipers work as they should too. This JEEP rolls on almost new Black Rock 15” aluminum wheels wrapped in Nitto Mud Grappler Extreme Terrain tires sized 35x14.50R15LT at all 4 corners. Tires still have rubber nubs on them. JEEP and RENEGADE decals are in great condition, and look fantastic too. Overall, the exterior of the JEEP is a solid 9 out of 10, with only the lightest signs of use and wear, and NO damaged areas. Underside, the JEEP has a clean and straight chassis. As noted above, the JEEP has NOT been detailed. Under side shots will show dirt and grime from normal use, but you can clearly see that it is solid, clean, and, most important on a JEEP – RUST FREE!!!! Pans and frame are clean, bare metal underneath with just light black paint applied. Brakes were rebuilt less than a year ago, including a new master cylinder. The upgraded 5-speed manual transmission was rebuilt as well, and shifts clean and perfect through all the gears. A full fluid service was also done in the past year, including transfer case, differentials, and engine fluids. The exhaust is only a few years old, and has a nice mellow burble that’s a bit nicer than stock, but not loud. Stock 1982 Renegade differentials work as they should, and the 4wd system works like it should too. Flipping the springs on the axles gave it a few inches of lift without causing any ride, handling, or steering issues. Power steering works great, and is tight and smooth without any slop or excessive play. Power wash it underneath when you get it home, and it’ll look even better than it does now. The interior floor has been treated to a nice, light coating of Line-X spray, and it still shows all the ridges, creases, and normal marks of the original pans. It makes it easy to hose out the dirt through the drain holes too. Heavy duty fitted front floor mats cover the entire pans, and are easy to remove and clean. A new VIP locking console unit has cup holders for 4 front and rear, coin storage, flip out storage tray, and a huge cubby with inner tray to hold all sorts of gear in a safe and secure way. Charcoal and gray interior is in great shape, with only the lightest signs of use, and no rips, tears, or seam pulls. Front seats are low profile buckets with flip-forward hinges, and they move fore and aft as well. Rear bench is easily removable, and has room for two adults. Matching roll bar pads protect everyone and look great doing it. Original soft top side and rear rails are still installed, should you wish to add a full top again down the road. No other hardware or canvas is included though, just what you see in the photos. Dash is clean and neat, with a chrome cover around the steering column, and chrome gauge insert. Speedometer, Temp Gauge, Fuel Gauge, Battery, and Oil Pressure gauges all appear to be functioning correctly, and the switchgear is all intact for lights, wipers, and fan/vent/heat settings, but the heater is NOT hooked up and would require hoses, clamps, misc., and some elbow grease to get functional again. IT was never used here in Florida, where it has been for over a decade. Hidden dash speaker and rear fender speakers combine to provide great sound from the Fusion Audio MS-RA205 “True-Marine” stereo. It has AM / FM / USB / iPod / iPhone / MTP / Bluetooth / AUX / USB / SiriusXM capability and expandability, and sounds killer, even at highway speeds. The upgraded 5-speed transmission is mounted next to the lever for the 4wd control, and both work perfectly. Glove box is intact, and works as it should. Dash cap looks amazing, and the turn handles on each side are in great condition as well. Steering column is painted to match, and is topped with a stock 3-spoke wheel with just light signs of use to show. Dual sun visors flip down when needed. The interior is very clean overall, and after you detail it and wipe everything down, it will show even better. Under the hood is the original 258ci I-6 motor, and it is in great running and performing condition. The engine bay was NOT detailed out with chrome and billet or anything, so it shows like a stock motor, but it HAS been fully sorted out and maintained over the year to make sure it STAYS running and performing great. It has not shown a leak, weep, or dripped fluid during its time with me, and has been in the same spot for three days now. It starts with a turn of the key, and idles smoothly and cleanly right out of the gate. Clutch feel is spot on, with a solid take-up feel, no slippage, and easy engagement. It shifts through each gear crisply without grinding or sloppiness. Steering is light enough for anyone in the family to drive it, and it has no slop or looseness to make you guess where you are heading. It is a blast to drive around town, and is quite comfortable cruising at 55-60 on the highway too. I have NOT had it on the Interstate, but I would imagine it would handle higher speeds pretty well too, since it doesn’t do anything strange at 60. It has been regularly used over the past few years, which has kept things lubricated and seals and gaskets moist. If you are looking for a great driving, cool looking, and well-cared for JEEP CJ to spend the summer months in, this might be the one for you. The vehicle is located in our Fort Myers, FL warehouse, and is just 20 minutes away from Southwest Florida International Airport (RSW) if you want to fly in and see it.
