This is a 1986 1/2 mid year release Jeep Wrangler. They are all titled as 1987 model year vehicles - this Jeep YJ replaced the CJ midway through 1986 and is a very unique Jeep compared to later Wranglers. This Jeep is in near mint condition with all of its original interior, body tub, frame, engine etc. I have owned it since 1991 and bought it from the original owner who was with an AMC dealership. It has always been garaged and is in great shape and has never been off road aside from minor backroads - it has never been articulated, bent, or stressed

The Jeep is all original aside from minor appearance and performance upgrades and has a 4.5 inch military wrap spring lift, articulating shackles, most recent program shocks, braided stainless steel brake lines, American Racing wheels, 32.5 BF Goodrich All Terrain Radial T/As, Custom Bumpers with front and rear receiver hitches, 10,000 pound winch, off road lights, neoprene high volume fuel tank and skid plate and much more - the 258 AMC engine was gone through by AMT in St. Louis which is the most expensive Pro engine shop in the area for longevity and performance upgrades including Keith Black Forged Pistons, full balancing of rotating assembly, full head work including all Crane valvetrain from the cam to the valvesprings and everything in between. The engine was assembled to blueprint specs and does not have very many miles on it. It has an MSD ignition, Weber Carb, Alloy finned valve cover and tons more - including a transfer case freshening as a preservation measure - about $15,000 worth of parts and engine work

This jeep was lightly used by our family and always adult owned, driven and maintained. Just take a look at the interior - that should say it all - it still has the original Jeep pattern Upholstery and it is just about perfect - it still has the original carpet - the floors, interior, jams and underhood still have the original factory Garnet paint - the body has been resprayed once and not due to rust - just due to light fading - we have pics of the jeep before it was painted. The paint job is excellent and the metallic is very complex and the finish is smooth and shiny - better than original

It drives extremely well with all new suspension pieces and large wheels and tires and has plenty of power. It doesn't smoke or overheat - you can sit in traffic or cruises and it performs perfectly. It has stock gearing so you are not killing the thing driving down the road. We didn't select huge heavy tires so it has plenty of pickup. All in all it is awesome but it is not perfect as it is 32 years old - it has the minor things that are to be expected on a 32 year old well cared for vehicle, but it is by far better than 90% if not more of them out there

An important point - Most vehicles like this have gone through dozens of high school graduating classes and have been wrecked, painted and repainted numerous times over shoddy bodywork and in the hands of novice mechanics and abusive drivers over the last 32 years - not this one - this vehicle is a good example of a survivor condition Jeep that was well loved and lightly used with tasteful mods - Most of these type Jeeps are cobbled together sketchy builds typically sourcing a well worn out Jeep and bashing it together with whatever parts then beating the hell out of it off road - not this one - if that is the price point you are looking for then I'm sure you will find one that needs tons of work and will likely cost more in the long run

Considering this the asking price is cheap compared to just the paint and labor put in on this build - No matter what this sale is a give away - you could not duplicate or build this Jeep for what I am asking even if someone gave you a clean Wrangler to start with for free! - we have over $15K in just parts not counting paint

I have included 80+ pictures of the Jeep from every angle, in different lighting, pictures of the interior, engine compartment and underneath - although I did not take any with the top off -sorry - it is a fresh Supertop and I want it to stay fresh - but it looks like a Jeep with the top down when its off - I believe I do have a Bikini top too, but I haven't used it in over 20 years.

The closeups of the paint do not do it justice - the Garnet metallic is one of the best factory colors ever put on a Jeep. It looks great in any light. This Jeep is fairly well optioned with tilt steering, PB, PS, Courtesy light group and upgraded rear view mirrors.

Have a look - Everything looks like it was just put together - all new and fresh - it truly is an exciting vehicle - Please reply with a phone number for a response on specific details that would require a lengthy typed explanation - I can go over everything in detail on the phone - thanks

The pictures above indicate what a huge labor effort went into creating this listing, and also keeping this Jeep nice for 32 years and upgrading it. Knowing what I know about this Jeep it is safe to say that I will just keep it if my price is not met. There is no way it could be replaced or duplicated for the sale price therefore any offers below asking price will have to be negotiated - I do have a transport company that will keep the Jeep clean on its way to the new owner - I would not recommend an exposed car hauler for something this nice, but that is up to the buyer

For the most part this Jeep is 100% top notch and ready to go. There are a couple things that we have accepted as it is a 32 year old AMC vehicle, but maybe the new owners may want to address. This is true with every vehicle out there, but many sellers seem to fail to mention this fact and just focus on all the great things - I can go over everything in detail on the phone - in short we are absolutely fine with the way the Wrangler is, but I would be glad to answer any questions

You can thank ebay management for the following increasingly more strict terms of these auctions

All items are as described and as is - No excuses or stories and we expect the same from our buyers. We want you to be happy with your purchase, so please ask any questions that you need answered - look at the pictures, carefully read the description and ask any questions in advance of bidding because it is your responsibility to insure you are going to be happy with this purchase, not ours.

This is cash only sale with an immediate downpayment due via Paypal at the end of the auction. If you are not capable of doing a cash deal you will need to contact the seller PRIOR TO BIDDING to arrange other terms. The hold period on any other form of payment will be lengthy - possibly 30-40 days, so the best solution for both the buyer and the seller is a cash transaction - this bike will not be released to a person showing up on the pickup day with a cashiers check under any circumstances so forget about even trying it

This is a collector / vintage vehicle so this Jeep is offered "AS- IS, WHERE-IS", with no warranty or guarantee, expressed or implied, as to its condition, fitness for use or fitness for a particular purpose. Information in the description section does not insure or guarantee overall condition of the vehicle and is not intended to be comprehensive. All information provided is our understanding of the condition and history of the vehicle from what we have been able to determine through research and discovery. In no way can any positive proof or guarantee of this information be established, provided or proven by the seller or even a buyer for that matter - Based on this caveat, a purchaser or disappointed bidder shall have no recourse against the seller as this is a 32 year old purpose specific vintage collector vehicle being sold as is - The seller reserves the right to cancel any auction. The seller will not be held liable for any such cancellation and/or closure.

Your bid is a binding agreement to buy not to come and look - According to EBAY POLICY your bid is a legal binding contract to purchase by law. Ebay continues to change their terminology on this policy, but the most recent version can be viewed here - http://pages.ebay.com/help/buy/bidding-overview.html Non paying bidders can be considered in breach of contract and handled as a delinquent account by law and submitted to our collection agency for collections which may include a restocking fee, storage or holding costs, late fees and all ebay charges
